Let's see how much Lebron really wants to win a championship with Bronny. If he opted out and re-signed for MLE this offseason, then yea, he genuinely wanted that more than the money.

I don't know how a deal would work with them since they don't have tradable pieces for that kind of salary

He has said he wants to remain a Laker. Jeanie wants him to retire as a Laker.

He has said a lot of things that were untrue throughout his career. Lol.

You cannot believe a word out of his mouth. This has been shown time and again. What you can believe is he will do what's best for him, and him alone. Sometimes it works for us, most of the time it won't work for us.

I mean I think Rob and Klutch partnership is pretty much ending or over after the AD trade.

Lebron is most likely looking out for himself now.

As far as him saying wanting to retire a Laker. I think that changed after the AD trade also.

Warriors aint it

Suns aint it

Cleveland sure if it can work out without them giving up any big assets.

I think Lebron retires here.

Contrary to what a selective few posters think i believe Lebron and Luka are gonna be great together.

More than a few that think this won’t work. If you really think this is a good duo I don’t know what to say.

It's really people that want him off the team that are inventing narratives that he's gonna want out himself, lol. Pretty pathetic tbh

LeBron James could sign an extension this offseason with the Lakers after their trade for Luka Doncic, per @mcten.

James holds a $52.7 million player option for his age-41 season in 2025-26.

Hell no. If he opts out, let him walk. If he opts in, let him expire. Don't want to pay him 50 million plus for 2 or 3 more seasons.

LeBron loves making money. He’s not walking away from the $190M or whatever his 3-year max is. If the Lakers are willing to give it to him.

Jeanie will pay him until he decides to retire.

They won't if Luka doesn't want him.

And if he (Luka) can fill up the stands at the existing rates.

Lakers season ticket renewals were 97%+ even during the string of lottery years. I'm going to go out on a limb and say ticket sales are a non-issue. If anything prices are going up.

To add to that, the general joy and hysteria across all of social media DWARFS when Lebron joined us. Not even close. Can't tell you how many fans were losing interest the last few years (like me) and are losing their minds right now.

Why wouldn’t he? Luka is smarter than that.

I don't attend the games but it is my understanding that ticket prices have gone up radically during the LeBron years, so it is not just a matter of filling the seats, but filling the seats at the existing greatly inflated prices. I'm sure Jeanie and company crunch the numbers better than we can and doesn't pay him $50M+ to lose money.

Perhaps they will fit, schematically it doesn’t look like it will on paper…ball dominant LBJ/Luka/AR with questionable defense and lack of effectiveness/willingness to play off ball…but we have to see it on the court. Sometimes looks can be deceiving tho so I hope it works out.
