Yeah, but you can say the same about any sport. Blowouts aren’t fun unless it’s your team doing the blowing.

lol! With these teams that are named after a city but don’t seem to have much connection to any, there is no team loyalty. The TGL so far is like a Rams fan watching Washington play Miami on Monday night football and the score is 54-0. Football is a great game but when you don’t have a loyalty to either team and it’s a one-sided game, it’s not entertaining. |

Agree totally. When I first saw the teams and names, I thought it was weird that most of the players had real connections to the cities (Fleetwood/Rose team LA?) . . . Bug then I thought, “just like every other sports league). “ _________________ "You know it seems the more we talk about it, it only makes it worse to live without it."

I realize I'm beating the proverbial dead horse here, but seriously, I just don't get how people find this entertaining. This isn't sport, this is guesswork. That people are apparently betting on.

This may come as a surprise, but you don’t have to watch. There’s lots of stuff that I don’t get how people can possibly watch . . . So I don’t. And I leave it at that.
It’s why you won’t find me in the KPop thread or the new shows thread saying, "I can't see how anyone even watches that show . . ." (even though that's what I often think about some of the suggestions). _________________ "You know it seems the more we talk about it, it only makes it worse to live without it."

Quote: | Zach Johnson has asked the Waste Management Open to limit fans to a maximum of 3 beers this year to avoid any “Idiotic shenanigans”. |
Get this man some extra security. This suggestion is dastardly. |

I thought they had already put restrictions on alcohol there after all the BS.
(EDIT: I see now it was outside alcohol that was banned). _________________ "You know it seems the more we talk about it, it only makes it worse to live without it."

I looked it up as well. Last year there was commotion at the gates because so many fans were trying to get in on the weekend with "any day" passes. Now all passes are specific day. It was reported by twitter users last year that at a certain point the crowd waiting for entry got so rowdy, security just began letting anyone come through.
They have opened an additional gate entry. They have widened walkways. They have moved to digital tickets, and are requiring fans to agree to new "code of conduct rules" which will make it easier for security to kick out fans who break the code of conduct.
While they are disappointed with the how last years event turned out, the event generates $500M for the local area, and millions in charitable giving, so they don't want to change too much.
My favorite part of the event, besides the finish, is watching all the people making a fool of themselves on social media. |
