Can confirm the Magic are sending the Lakers the No. 35 pick to the Lakers.

The future second-round pick Orlando's receiving, in addition to the cash, is in 2028, a league source tells @orlandosports.

I'd like to know how much they had to spend. And which future pick?

2028 2nd rounder

Hahaha. My eyes failed me. Thanks.

It's gonna be hilarious if we end up using the pick in a trade for another player (as opposed to drafting).

I was thinking more in line of using the pick to move up to 28th.. the Warriors are currently shopping that pick

Good value at #35. Hopefully we can find a player who can contribute right now.

Both..... We need cheap talent. Give them future 2nds for it and lets go.

I don't think the Lakers want the cap implications of a 1st round pick. A 2nd round pick is the cheapest roster spot in the league, and that's probably the biggest motivating factor here vs letting the scouting dept flex.

My prediction: the folks who are saying Westbrook won’t be traded are gonna end up being wrong as well.. it wouldn’t surprise me to see something go down today involving Westbrook

Considering he hasn't opted in, i would be very surprised if he was traded somehow

I'll round out my guess on the trade details: Lakers send the higher of WAS/LAL in 2028 and $2,150,000 to Orlando for No. 35

If his guess is correct, we should still have some cash for other potential deals.

Westbrook can’t be moved until he opts in, if at all. He hasn’t and can wait until the 29th i think it is

Opting in takes about 2 mins for people to know about it, even if nothing happens it does look like Pelinka is working the phones

We have another "surplus" 2nd from the Russ trade. Wonder if we use that too, along with remaining cash to get another 2nd. Pipe dream? Get that Warriors 1st (I think 28th pick?) for 2 future 2nds and cash.

I know EXACTLY who the Lakers SHOULD take with that 35th pick!!! 🤯🔥🔥

Don't see anything mind blowing at 35, Cuffington.

So it looks like you like my idea of going after the Warriors 1st round pick.. if we end up getting the Warriors pick it gives us either a sweetner in a trade or a prospect to target

The thing is do they like someone it would this be used to move Russ/THT for more immediate help.

Just feel that would be such a short sighted move. We don't have meaningful cap space and so many gaping holes on this team. Would like to get some bigger wings if possible as the FA market for big wings is sparse.

If the Hornets are on the clock and are deciding what to do with Hayward and they have offers from the Pacers and Lakers.. just saying.. Westbrook opting in isn’t a big deal he has to either way
