Beloved member of the community who will be greatly missed. Glad so many were able to get to know him beyond the forum and social media. A definite shot to the gut and heart for everyone who knew him. He had a lot of friends here.
Much love to his family.
Much love to those in the LG community who are hurting. |

This really hurts a lot. As others have posted, he was my Facebook friend, he sent a copy of his book of poems to me, and he was quick to offer encouragement and support if he thought that you were going through anything tough, and it didn't matter if he was going through difficulties himself, which, unfortunately, he had to battle with.
He was a brilliant dude and he had a lot of heart. It sucks to lose someone like him, and I will remember him very fondly. RIP, LM. |

Read his posts and thought well of him. I didn't have a personal relationship but considered him as one of the good ones in the LG family. RIP

I am really sorry to hear this.
He was a longtime poster here and I always enjoyed reading his opinions and takes on the various topics we banter about.
I didn't know him away from the board, but very sorry to hear that he had some tough times, it is certainly something many of us can relate to.
RIP Hyrum.... _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

I didn't know him either, but as a longtime LG member I remember the name and enjoyed his posts. RIP my friend. My hope is that as you retired from this life and entered into your eternal rest, you did it like the kid from Lower Merion. Drop 60 and walk away.
LM out! |

I can't believe this. This really really saddens me. We joined LG at the same time, a week apart or so. Always liked his comments and presence. Dude, I'm really shocked of this news. He seems like the only person here that showed some sympathy for me. I'm actually shedding a tear for this man. _________________ (❍ᴥ❍ʋ) ʕʘᴥʘʔ (⌐ ͡■ ͜ʖ ͡■) (┛◉Д◉)┛( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ |

Do we know if there's any fund set up to support his kids or funeral costs? |

Just seeing this and devastated. We messaged a lot six or seven years ago. Then it fell off and I knew he had some just horrific struggles and we'd chat every once in awhile. I just checked my email and I messaged him twice in the last year and didn't get a response and it concerned me a bit and yet I didn't follow up or anything. Obviously now wish I had.
He was a fascinating guy, outside of LG, and I'm going back through his messages here and enjoying the wide-ranging discussions we had, but I will just tell a couple of LG stories with him.
We actually connected years ago during the Phil era because one poster in particular was rabidly anti-Phil. It involved giving all credit for his Bulls success to John Bach (Bach was only reason Bulls defense was good; this does not explain why 2nd Bulls 3-peat had good D, with no Bach). So we had some back and forth about this and LM got into it and then I started PMing with him and we went from there. The highlight being the guy said John Bach was dead. When Hyrum and I told the poster John Bach was, in fact, very much alive, the poster responded that a friend of his had inside info about it. He didn't. For years after we'd message each other about John Bach still being alive. When Johnny B. finally passed a few years ago, Hyrum was first guy I thought of and wrote to.
And just found this message from him years ago, as we talked about our respective middle age hoops games
