Wow. I know this is only one highlight tape from one game but he really looks like he has improved his game and become less selfish. Was seeing a lot of long passes from him in the back court, pushing the ball after change of possession without hesitation. The same thing I loved seeing from Lonzo at UCLA. I almost forgot he calls himself a point guard with the way he was playing in Lithuania. And physically he is looking nice; just effortlessly dunking at half speed. Showing some warning signs of a guy who isn't serious enough, but he is young so he has time to turn it around. He has 19 months until the draft, lets see where he is playing and how he is looking next november.

Only if Lavar is able to sucker another franchise into taking another Ball
He really has no skill. All he does is fire ridiculously long 3s and make unnecessarily flashy passes.
Just say you only watched him as a Sophomore. At Spire he is less selfish, looking to make plays, and just doesn't jack up Trae Young type threes. Did Lavar Ball really cloud people's minds that easily? Sad. _________________ The most important shot in basketball.
and we all know he only went to Cuse because Carmelo went there and they have similar names _________________ one dog goes that way the other dog goes the other way

Melo's use and days in the league limited. His salary $1,512,601 says, if he's willing to accept a scrub role he's worth a signing. That role may wake him up, PRIDE. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Is Spire one of those prep schools that plays fifth-year post grads? If so, I think Melo could graduate this year, play at SPIRE again next year, then jump to the draft. If not, attaching himself to Gelo will really limit his overseas pro prospects if that would be "his" strategy again next year.

I would think that would regress his draft status. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

Mike have you seen any OKC games? Wondering what you think of Deonte Burton. He impressed me in summer league. I think he played pro ball overseas.
His strength and composure is impressive for a rookie.
Even though his stats aren't anything impressive. The OKC announcers and fans really like him. _________________ When the world grows. Don't choose to stay the same.

He's Julius Randle II. I've been making fun of him for years because they look alike, wear the same number, both left handed, stocky dudes.
The difference is he has some guard skills and basically, it boils down to his ability to shoot the 3 and make some decent passes on drives. Iowa St. was developing talent really well for awhile. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

I'll definitely keep an eye on him. Diallo is getting all the love. Rightfully so. But JRII (Burton) is no slouch. _________________ When the world grows. Don't choose to stay the same.

He impressed me his last year at Iowa St. Played very well against Swanigan in the tournament including a huge block. Very Randle-esque except he has ability to shoot but is much shorter. Was hoping to pick him up after the draft. Curious to see how he turns out because my eyes told me now that’s a basketball player. Not a stud, but a really good player. _________________ We pour this booze and we drink this booze because we think it's yummy. YUMMY! So over the tounge and down the throat to party in our tummys.

I'm most definitely not a Diallo guy. Burton is a more skilled player on both ends of the floor for sure. The magic would be if he was able to defend opposing 4/3 in lineup situations, then exploit his guard skills on the offensive end. He's an odd kind of tweener but still able to affect the game defensively. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

So you're saying that would be a good strategy to drop to the Lakers?
Lamelo a lottery pick? Please. He'd be lucky to even get a tryout in the league. I've watched him since his freshman year. He isn't anywhere near the passer or leader Lonzo is. Has zero concept on how to play defense. And is a terrible shooter. Everybody always looks at how many points Melo and Gelo put up, but rarely do they pay attention to how many shots they put up to get those numbers.
Melo is garbage. The 3 "other" Balls are living off of Lonzo's talent which is unfortunate.
247sports.com currently doesn't even have Melo rated as a 1 star.
If he goes to college and is forced to actually play basketball and not that run and chuck garbage he is accustomed to he's going to be exposed badly. If at that point he decides to learn to play the game he could turn into something.

He’s definitely improved a lot. Very curious to see where he goes to next year to prepare for the 2020 draft. _________________ Lakers Offseason Goal:

I don't understand how a guy that looked like White Chocolate as a freshman just suddenly falls out of the lottery.
Now he's what, 6'6" ? 6'7"? He's not doing the fancy stuff anywhere near as much as he used to in Chino Hills and that got further reduced with international play.
Just, I wouldn't be surprised if he was a lottery pick. It's not like he lacks handles/vision. The shot is still weird, but he looks comfortable from range. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

He's shooting up the draft boards now.
According to one executive, dude has a real shot at being no. 1
