FredV and Green shots over him. Both were easily able to knock him off balance by going into his body.
Offensive foul at the end.
Thompson offensive rebound just ball watching it was right in front of him. I give him a pass on that since an airball usually goes to the offensive player.

He was bad to start the game. He forgets he's the leader. He sets a terrible tone on both ends to start games. He should just rest these games if he doesn't have it.
For the airball, that was just bad luck. His man was Sengun, Austin was checking Holiday on the baseline. If the ball hits any part of the rim they'd likely secure the rebound. It was a great trap but that's what happens when you double.
AD is great, but when we criticize his lack of fire….i think it’s because he really doesn’t want to compete in a physical/bruising type of style. You can see that’s how he plays…tries to finesse his way into being effective and only plays physical if he absolutely has to.
That’s the difference between him and Giannis. Giannis embraces the bruising and bumping and seeks it out even. AD wants nothing to do with that if he can help it. (With his injury history, that’s probably why)
AD can average 30/14 and 2 blocks across 10 games and have a 20/10 game in the 11th game and people will question his ability. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I wouldn't blame AD. I get mad at him plenty and he honestly pisses me off a lot but he has to cover for everyone on defense. That starting lineup JJ has out there is a travesty on defense outside f Christie and AD.

This so true, but I don't think it is the simple fact that some days he have less less success, but that sometimes it appears he isn't all in. Maybe it is unfair to be critical of those days, but I don't remember too many of them with Magic, or even Kobe for that matter. There is always Shaq, as a possible comparison, in this regard, but then Shaq, at his best, was so much better. _________________ "A metronome keeps time by using a Ringo"

Contrast that to Curry going 0fer missing all his shots and scoring 2pts when nobody bats an eye. AD and LBJ aren’t the problem. They were good enough in 2020 to overcome an inadequately constructed roster…LBJ had to play full time PG for crying out loud…but despite playing well they can’t do that now.
Using the picks for a legitimate back up C and a defensive PG that isn’t a liability offensively would fix this current team. It’s as plain as day to everyone but Rob won’t…or more likely can’t…do it. _________________ When it’s a reasonable possibility, I expect the Lakers to go after a ship like it can’t be denied. I haven’t seen a respectable effort by the Front Office for the last two off seasons nor the last trade deadline. What is going on?

I don’t think you can be a great team with AD as the best player. He’s an ISO two point jump shooter that doesn’t really get anyone else involved. Ideally he’d be a 3rd option offensive player and a guy focused on rim protecting for a championship team.
If he’s the 1st option and he really doesn’t care about being a defensive force, your team will be mediocre.
He should be Chris Bosh. Problem is the Lakers don’t have a prime Lebron or DWade to compliment him

Except now he's not covering for anything on defense and missing point blank layups and free throws, and glancing up weak jumpers and floaters. And he's also getting beat on the perimeter a lot, making switching non-viable.
Great players can play like (bleep), full stop, without caveats. The truly elite ones brush it off and come back stronger. This guy let a regular season game with Orlando derail his MVP campaign, and then shrank into his shell further.
It's true he needs help at the 5 and even help at the 4, but starting to face the reality that his game is diametrically opposed to the direction of the NBA, and he seems to be aging too fast/doesn't have enough motor for his hustle to make up for that. He's never going to be a championship #1 again and regarding the next window, I'm not even sure he's a championship #2.
