Dude dominating. In on a lot of plays on both sides. Commentators are talking him up really well, too. First half double double, and has been a monster defensively. The amount of times he's dissuaded penetration just by being down there

I appreciate what AD did for us but I definitely am glad we no longer have to deal with this dude constantly injuring himself on routine plays, or falling to the ground writhing in agony only to get up just fine two minutes later. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

They got a little over one good half from him, I def. fully believe we sold sky high on AD to say the least. Hope nothing but the best for the guy but glad I don't have to be scared the season might be over multiple times a game anymore. Max is going to def. be a little beast as well though at least.

You’re so right. When some of us were talking rebuild on here in the off-season or even last year at the trade deadline, the idea was get whatever you can for LeBron (expiring so wouldn’t have been much - or he walks for free in offseason) and try to get as many picks for AD. Maybe you get a solid prospect or 2 at Max Christie’s level back as well - but the idea was 3-4 first rounders and most of us would have been over the moon. To swing Luka for him when he was playing his best was pure mastery by the FO.

Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis is expected to miss multiple weeks with a left adductor strain, sources tell ESPN. His absence could stretch to a month.

The window for trading AD looks to have been a tiny one also, from a health perspective. He went down with what was supposed to be a relatively minor one in Philly and was gonna be cleared to come back in a few days. Had the injury been more serious to begin with, one would have to assume the deal doesn't get completed. _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0
AD getting a banner when he retires? _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“
AD's value would be halved by this summer if Lakers held onto him. good thing that's not our problem anymore.
Rewinding back to the pre Feb 1st 2025 days, when 100% of the world thought Luka was unattainable, if the Lakers were shopping AD, what would have been the realistic return? Just brainstorming guys: KAT, Brunson, Butler, Ant, Sabonis, Turner, Jackson Jr, Booker, KD, Zion. All guys below the Top Tier (Jokic, SGA, Wemby, Giannis).
AD is a great player, but there wasn't a realistic market for him. Even if healthy, tough to find something that makes sense. Until the Mavs created one out of nowhere. _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0
The disrespect AD gets is crazy. He needed 1 game to show his value. Actually 1 Qtr. Not his fault, injuries happen and he's shown even with injuries he'll stay in shape and play at an elite level.
No one should trade for AD to be the franchise carry you to 60 wins guy. He's the guy you build your defence around, expect to give you 20-25 points a game multiple ways. No one should confuse him for the Joker.
The thing with Dallas is if they had health to Gafford/Lively, they would be able to survive the AD injury. It's just so happen their injury luck is insane this year. Look at us, we were able to stay competitive without AD because we had enough depth and Lebron. That's what Dallas would do, but they've lost their depth to injuries as well.
AD - I know he has a huge contract for a couple more years, but he should either try to force a trade to get out or refuse to play huge minutes when their inept management pushes him to play lots of minutes to salvage some tickets. No way they can turn this around no matter what he does or the team tries to do. Lay low, take the hits of the few remaining fans there, do your time. No redeeming that team at this point. Don't get injured trying to make up for something that their GM will destroy anyway.
Thanks Nico. But don't destroy AD and Max.
As long as the Mavericks are not trying to win, AD will hopefully be okay, but if they are pressing on him to win games, he could suffer a more serious injury.
Anthony Davis was complaining about where he was being played and he wasn’t happy,” Buss said. “So I think this was a positive for both teams. They got what they were looking for; we got what we were looking for.

The Mavs have absolutely no chance to advance very far and yet AD is insistent that he return after a brief rehab stint. I have a strong inkling that he wants to give the Mavs fans hope for the future by returning under the current circumstances.
At least they'll have something to look to if he dominates like only AD can.
Now, again, and forever, Thanks Nico!
