Last year AD had 8 games with 5+ assists
This year he already has 3
It's his second best season (after his final with the Pels) in terms of assists.

It does seem like the 5 out spacing is giving him more opportunity to be a passer.

Seems like he improved his shooting and passing after going up against Jokic.

In standard 5-out, he gets the ball behind the 3-point line.
In 4-out, he'll get catches in the post.

One leads to passes and drives against single gaps. The other leads to post moves, drives against double gaps and kickouts.

Honestly AD has stepped up already I. This early season. He’s playing at a ridiculously high level. I also gotta commend Ham for keeping his stars in a buy in mindset

Yikes. Well that praise came too soon, I guess, shutting my mouth from now on

But he's gotta be hurting tonight, there's just no world in which Sabonis should be doing this to him with the size/athleticism difference. The Kings are rarely the tougher, more physical team than their opponent, yet here we are.

It's really exhausting, not sure what his deal is.

He might be hurt again.

AD has had trouble with bigger C's like Nurkic, Jokic, and now Sabonis this season.

I know Lebron wants to give the impression that he has AD's back when he said, "AD don't give a damn about what the media thinks." But I bet, deep down inside, Bron is saying, "AD, please give a damn about what they think. Please go out there and prove them wrong. I want my 5th ring damn it!"

I was thinking after 2020, Lebron banked on the right guy for his final years, but I'm so damn surprised at Bron's longevity, that with 20/20 hindsight, AD was the wrong choice. Could have gone a different road with our resources and have a better supporting cast for Bron. Too bad Philly is playing so well, I'd love a AD for Joel swap.

That explains struggles. It doesn't explain Elden Campbell level quitting.

Sabonis ain’t bigger. Same height and less weight. It’s just the same old AD. Didn’t show up tonight.

This team will only go as far as AD takes them.

Doesn’t matter much that LeBron and Dlo had good scoring games, if AD is flat, the team is flat.

With a very few exceptions, AD has dominated Sabonis in their head to head battles.

AD left his motor at home tonight. Wth my dude...just show effort.

I thought it looked like AD was grabbing at his adductor area at one point during the game. You wonder how something like that might actually be healing on his first back to back after the injury.

I was watching the national telecast and they were talking about god knows what, but it wasn't about the game, so I don't know if other telecasts picked up on that. I might just be reading too much into it, though.

He looked pretty listless after that for some stretches. Then he sat for longer than I've seen him sit.

He still contested a ton of shots and managed to get 4 blocks somehow. Not a good game, though.

Yeah AD's been playing extremely well this year on both ends. The thread is most active when he doesn't, sadly.

Very clearly looked like he was playing through something on the B2B.

Davis had 30/13/3 on 60% from the field on Sabonis two weeks ago. He was not 100% today. Even then, we needed better effort today on the offensive end.

he dominates Sabonis regularly https://www.landofbasketball.com/games_between/anthony_davis_vs_domantas_sabonis.htm

But his hip injury was flaring up but he tried to play through it.

AD said in the post game that his hip was bothering him a little bit its ridiculous that we didn’t rest him in this game especially when this game seemed like it was gonna be tough

What is wrong with his hip? He had it last season also. Why not address it

That’s his cover story for lack of motor and heart.

To be honest with you… his body is created in a way were he can get injured just by a single defensive coverage or a rebound, we should have sat him in this game especially if he wasn’t feeling right

Pretty sure it's the same hip he hurt against the Heat... Understandable specially in b2b games that it bothers him.

He also had the same hip issue in the playoffs last season
