Still young, but Lakers way overpaid him too early and then brought in Russ to really stunt his growth this season.
On Jazz will get chances to make big mistakes and grow hopefully. Hate to lose a young guy but he is 2 years away from being 2 years away. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
I firmly believe once THT’s midrange shots start falling, the game will open up for him. He’s really young, and his style is real smooth. Ingram struggled here for a bit as well, but you could see flashes and spurts of brilliance (well some of us did).
THT will be the player who trashbag blog boys for other teams will call flaming hot garbage while on the Lakers, but they will be considered a good young player on another team. _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant
He was drafted young and needed to develop. Now that he has started to show some signs of maturity and growth, the Lakers trade him for a quick fix.
Few young players excel with James. Not sure why the expectations were any different with the Lakers? Especially when they added another ball dominant player with a huge personality in WB. Will be interesting to see if THT starts thriving in a Sixth Man role similar to Clarkson.
I wasn’t expecting much from THT until the post James era anyways. I wish him success in the league. Except on those nights against the Lakers, of course!

I was never a member of the THT hype team so I guess good luck to him. We likely replaced an 8 with a 8.5. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.
Huge mistake by the Lakers. Lakers as a franchise are not patient at all and it hit them so many times. This will be one of them also. We will regret a lot letting him go for 34 year old fool who pretend to play defense.

Pedro Martinez for Deshields like trade.
Are you saying THT is going to have a hall of fame career? He hasn't shown that they can build a team around him. Maybe if you are super optimistic he will become an all star one day. But at this point its looking like he will just be a role player. He's already had 3 seasons in the NBA. By the 4th season most GM's already have an idea what type of player somebody is going to be in the league.

Let's not overrate THT here.
Some guys really loved him, I guess.
I thought he never got better and his low basketball IQ is not something that can be improved.
The Lakers should have kept Caruso in the first place. He was the much better player.
He's got some talent, but not enough to make up for his natural tendency to play individual basketball. I don't think he'll ever get another contract as big as his current one, but I wish him well.

Keeping THT over Caruso was a mistake. Several years of making continual mistakes basically cost the Lakers all their depth.
FWIW I believe Beverley does help them more this coming season.

Selling low. Sounds about right for this Lakers FO. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though."

Idk how consistent he’ll ever be at shooting with how horrible his mechanics look. Has a weird hitch (especially on catch and shoots) and his release is really slow…even compared to centers.
