Clippers only had to mortgage their future for the rest of the decade in order to build a team that has no chance of contending and no real assets. Don't see how you can praise their roster and ignore what it cost. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."
Ex-trainer says he told Clippers that Kawhi was supposed to miss 2 years but the Clippers rushed him back and fired the trainer. _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns".
Clippers about to surpass the Lakers again in the standings. I really like to bring this up because it really needs to be understood how much the Lakers screwed up building this team over the years.
Despite missing Kawhi up until now and playing with no stars during that stretch, they're currently better, especially if you factor in +/-. Theirs is positive along with every other team above .500, while the Lakers is currently negative by a decent margin.
I know LeBron and AD aren't the same anymore, but how can explain you them being worse than teams that obviously have less star power?
It's so pathetic, it makes me angry.
Real talk: I don't think even the 2020 versions of LeBron and AD lead this team to a ring, because this team is putrid on defense.
Tired of expecting these same guys to be the main supporting cast. They have nice PPGs, but that's it. They're score only guys who don't score enough to ease the scoring burden of the stars. And when you add in the awful, awful defense, they're just not good enough.
Who gives a crap we got title out of our duo and those bums had to buy out two hospital beds for their duo.
The Lakers wasted years of having LeBron and AD. They may not be as good as they were, but we have no idea what they could've done for all these years because the supporting cast has been trash.
At least the Clippers know it was their stars that failed them, not because of their inability to put competent rosters around them.
As a front office, you can only make moves to get your team in a position where you win a championship IF the stars play well. The Clippers did that, and the Lakers didn't.
Even if the end result is the Lakers having one vs their zero, the Lakers potentially left so much more on the table compared to the Clippers.

Tired of AR getting so much praise, TBH.
This Lakers team is a good team, and we've seen it beat some good teams.
But when they come out with no energy and what seems like a casual attitude, like they did on Monday and many times last season, they're going to look like a team that is poorly built and needs to be blown up. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers

I agree with that 100%. Injuries and the FO failed the AD/Bron era miserably.
Well, the 1st game actually happened and the Clippers were decisively better. The Clippers gave up more to put their star duo together, lost the star they gave up all that to, and are STILL better than the Lakers.
That's really pathetic. I don't know how Pelinka is still GM after all of this.
When you make that comparison, you have recognize how much the Lakers fumbled the supporting cast for all these years.
Clippers injury update for Celtics game tonight:
OUT:
Nicolas Batum - Right Finger Soreness
Kris Dunn - Left Knee Soreness
James Harden - Right Groin Soreness
Kawhi Leonard - Right Knee Injury Management
Norman Powell - Back Soreness
Ivica Zubac - Left Eye Corneal Abrasion
We got AD, immediately won a ring, and then traded him at peak value for Luka. Josh Hart, who was viewed as the weakest piece in all off the assets we gave up for AD, might just be the most valuable guy we traded...which is to say, we won the deal handily. The picks haven't amounted to much.
They got PG, immediately embarrassed themselves in the playoffs and didn't do much else since, then lost him for nothing. The best prospect they traded, Shai, is now a top 3 player at 26 years old on the best team in the West for the foreseeable future and will probably win the MVP this year. They still owe valuable picks going into some down years...

This feels like the day when the Clippers’ recent dominance over the Lakers finally ended. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

💯. I felt like this even when the Clippers played the Raptors. It's like the rock fell back down on Sisyphus. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."

Flipper fans already giving up on Kawhi.
I already gave up on him last Season tbh as far as being any kind of actual true threat for a Playoff run at least. He's also consistently regressed defensively to the point he's not even a threat there anymore but he still has that smooth shot for the limited time he can play to put up some points.
