You make valid points. Might be the only time I’ve heard a critique of affirmative action that I immediately can’t think of reasons why it is a bad idea.

It’s a tough subject because it makes more sense to replace race with income but there’s a debt US as a country owes African Americans

For sure. The best way to repay that debt is to fix all the socioeconomic inequities that make AA necessary. In the meantime AA I may be an imperfect system, but it is a very good band aid that doesn’t really hurt anybody in s world of legacy/donor admissions (which have not Vern legislated out of existence).

I like the idea of reparations, but I have no idea how it should work or even if it would work.

For example, does every descendent of a slave owner have enough money to pay sufficient reparations?

Also, how would it be received? Would it go directly to Black people, or would it maybe be distributed in Black neighborhoods among institutions and centers of influence such as schools, community centers, hospitals, housing subsidies, etc.?

This is why I think AA should be in pre-adult is because it simply would be providing more services to African American communities (in theory could work to level the playing field entering adulthood) compare to applying it after reaching adult stage which would means cutting opportunities from other communities because there is a finite space (college admissions, jobs). There’s no perfect solution but it’s how I see it

If I'm in full fat kid mode. I jam fries into a double double, add extra ketchup and spread.
And then prepare for the apocalyptic GI results from my poor decision making.

That I can agree on. I went to Souplantation 3 times to see if their soup got any better but none of them had any flavor.

You can ask for them well done or (my preference) light-well, which is between normal and well done. It definitely improves them, but -- yeah, still not the best fries out there.

Best fries are home fried in an Air Fryer. No grease is required. Coat them with olive oil, and salt them, I use garlic salt. Preheat the fryer to 380. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, turn them halfway through. Finger licking good! I don't peel my potatoes. If you don't peel the potatoes be sure to scrub clean them. Don't overload the fryer basket. Leave some space between the fries so the air can circulate.

Following in the vein of the many “controversial “ takes in this thread that aren’t actually at all controversial, Weezer is the greatest pop act that has been active for three decades and continues to be.

Yes they do. Often. From different locations. Unless they've gotten better postpandemic.

If your bar is low, an animal style is a perfectly acceptable burger.

Well then, given everything else I’ve come to know about you, you’re quite the catch.
