Just had myself an animal style double double today. Their burgers never disappoint.

If your bar is low, an animal style is a perfectly acceptable burger.

Well, my husband does tell me I am very low-maintenance.

Well then, given everything else I’ve come to know about you, you’re quite the catch.

As long as he thinks I am, that's the trick!

In all seriousness though, I love In-N-Out. I've never been disappointed there once, ever. They've never gotten one of my orders wrong, ever, and I have gotten what I've expected every single time. I agree with people that their fries aren't great, but whatever, it's fries pared with a burger, it's like pizza, it can only be so bad!

Agreed. And I never feel like I'm going to have a heart attack after. Can't say the same for 5 Guys, Shake Shack (which is a trash burger in all respects, AFAIC).

WRT to fries in particular, I do appreciate that In-N-Out fries are actual potatoes. Medium well does the trick. What's missing is the sugar that you get in other fast-food fries, that's just totally unnecessary. I prefer Fatburger fat fries, but complaining about In-N-Out fries is like complaining about LA traffic. It comes with the territory.

All over, honestly. And they are extremely busy/crowded 90% of the time whenever I've gone to one. The place is a gold mine.

I can't disagree there. From my experience, In-N-Out has been nothing but consistent in the product they put out.

I love that place. I never got any thing wrong there either. The employees are on another level compared to other fast food places.

Also there fries aren't that bad if you order it well done.

It's fairly cheap too. Doube double + fries is like $7.20 after tax at my local In-N-Out. I was at Carls Jr and I was shocked the Double Western Bacon was $9 bucks by itself before tax.

Gulags and life imprisonment are awful, awful, things, and it would be really, just terribly tragic if the fossilized, shackled remains that may or may not have belonged to everyone who ever paid admission into an anime convention were discovered by paleontologists in Siberia one million years from now.

We are going to need a larger gulag for the kpop and reality tv fans, as well as the social media “influencers”.

I know this is sacrilege to people, but I don't think The Beatles are that great. I get they had impact. Totally understand that, but I find a lot of their material a product of their time. I don't think they're the undisputed GOAT the way many people do...and I'm not trying to be contrarian just to be provocative. It's like if you don't think they're the beginning and end of rock-and-roll, you're looked at as uncultured swine. They're neither the beginning nor the end.

^^ By a similar token, I don't like it when people act like today's rock music (the last 20 years or so) is garbage and that rock from decades ago was higher quality.

Every decade has its good music and bad music. Plus music evolves over time. If The Beatles weren't that great, maybe some of it was because they emerged during the early days of rock music.

To make a basketball analogy, maybe comparing The Beatles to some of the great rock bands from the past few decades is like comparing Bob Cousy to Magic, Jordan, Kobe, LeBron or Steph.

It's funny, where we live the best fast food service is from the local KFC - in the past twenty years or so, the personal service has been so good, on two occasions I actually wrote letters to the management complimenting them on their level of service.

WTF do the following phrases mean?

1) Apropos of nothing...

2) Not for nothing, but...

Both phrases make me mental.

My controversial opinion is I do like their fries. You can actually tell they're potatoes since they're not overly fried. I've met one person my entire life who shares my opinion lol. Actually, maybe my controversial opinion is In N Out is never worth it. I quit meat, but I loved their burgers too. But time is money and by that account In-N-Out is too expensive.

Belgium and France are suffering a BO crisis. Any public space that doesn't reek of cigarette smoke or fried butter is humid with nuclear cool ranch dorito armpit stink that will choke you.

I was in Belgium about 6 weeks ago and I can attest to the stench that hangs over that country. The air stunk. The people stunk. I was happy to leave.

I didn't have any issues in France. I was happy to be there after my brief stay in Belgium.

Apropos of nothing denotes the injection of a comment or action that does not follow the context of the situation. It is closely related to and can be a non sequitur. It can also be ironic when saying something that is germane to the topic while pretending it’s not (somewhat analogous to the current common phrase, “just sayin’”).

Not for nothing indicates there’s a good reason or context for something. “Not for nothing, his screen name has mule in it.”

Awesome. Where did you go in Belgium? I visited Brussels and Bruges. Magical places, both.
