It wasn’t really the popular thing to do to continue to chase my dream. You know, I didn’t really do anything in high school but go to the gym—don’t party, don’t drink, or anything like that. I kind of just stuck to basketball and chose that route. I know I had teachers in high school telling me I needed to figure out a Plan B because, you know, Plan A wasn’t going to work. Like, I’ve been told that a million times. And I maybe wasn’t smart enough to understand that because, you know, it’s a very small percentage that makes it to this level. So I was probably naive when they were telling me that, and was like, ‘Ah, screw y’all, I’m going to figure it out.’ And it’s just—if I can inspire kids in my situation to continue to chase their dreams, whatever it is, just do it. Regardless of what anybody thinks of you.”* – via YouTube

The main piece we traded for AD, Brandon Ingram... I was just thinking I wouldn't even deal AR straight up for BI at this point. People wanted to trade this dude with picks on top for Djournty Murray.

I wouldn't deal AR for a package of Lonzo, BI, and Josh Hart. Lol

A bigger Jeff Hornacek. He will continue to flourish as the 2 next to Luka. I expect him to be 50/40/90 @20 ppg soon.

If he keeps playing like this he really should be untouchable. Best contract in the league and the perfect 3rd Star/X factor that can be a number 2 or even a number 1 on any given night

Austin has this weird habit of trying to shoot his way out of a bad legs game. Hasn't worked once this season though. JJ has to recognize this and get him some looks going towards the basket that he doesn't have to create himself.

If AR is not hitting shots the Lakers should have enough firepower to weather the storm

You cant have that trio out there at the same time. Out of all of them Bron is the best off ball player because of his cutting. Other than that you have pretty much 3 ball dominant players.

Right now it's too many cooks in the kitchen when there is no need for it. When Luka gets in shape during this break he can carry an offense damn near by himself. Having him and Lebron out there in the starting lineup is more than any other team has out there when it comes to creating.

I just hope AR's offense doesn't regress like beginning of season guarding opposing all star perimeter guards..

Reaves is going to get a lot of open catch and shoot opportunities. He's gonna need to knock em down at a higher rate than he has been.

Reaves shouldn't be starting once Luka regains his legs and conditioning..

as much as I'm trying to trade him, we miss his offense so much with the way Luka is playing
don't be dumb and get ejected Austin...

Apparently AR said "that's a foul" 3 times and was ejected. Wild what AR gets thrown out for and what is a nothingburger when Draymond does it every single time.

It looked like a pretty standard ejection based on Austin’s reaction. It was just odd that the second technical was delayed and didn’t follow anything overly demonstrative.

Those types of reach in fouls are tough to see and typically get missed a lot so I was surprised he reacted that strongly to it but I know it’s frustrating in real time. As someone who usually gets an outstanding whistle, he might lose a little goodwill with the refs with reactions like that.

I remember some of the hate he would get here from time to time.
To be honest, he could easily get $25-30 million per year right now.
No doubt in my mind.

Portland is probably the first team that made an emphasize to deny AR the ball and pressure him full court. He was exhausted tonight. Still showed up.
Obviously nobody could be doing that with Luka playing.

He's definitely someone you'd ride or die with. Just rises up to the occasion, and you feel the will to win oozing out of the TV stream.

1. Luka*
2. Wade
3. Davis
4. Kyrie
5. Bosh
6. Reaves
7. Love
8. Allen

And we could have a discussion about Bosh.

He was the best player on either team tonight! His 2 way play to end the game was some Kobe level competitiveness which is wild that i'm even comparing the two but that was a hell of an effort blended with some elite play.

I hope him and Luka both are off limits in any future trades.

Nice game today, but his reputation gets inflated here because his bad games get ignored.

Dude had 8 pts in 27 minutes and got kicked out of the game yesterday against Charlotte. Against Utah, he had 11 asts, but went 4-15 and 1-10 from 3 in 36 minutes. Also had an awful shooting game against GSW, but got foul calls that game.

He's shooting 31.5% from 3 this month so far.

Sorry, but untouchable is hilarious. All these big performances feel like the result of getting the volume as a 1st or 2nd option, meaning they don't do anything for him in terms of how he'll fit next to Luka and LeBron.

And even when LeBron leaves, the Lakers are obviously going to try to get somebody else as the 2nd option in FA.

AR is REALLY good value right now for his deal. But, will he be worth the eventual contract he'll get and can he fit into the role he'll eventually have to perform in?

Man not going to lie, you usually have level headed takes but AR seems like a blind spot where you took a strong stance against him before and now that he's playing great for the last 2 months you're trying to minimize his good games and amplify his bad games instead of just saying "yeah I was probably wrong about AR"

Everybody has bad games, even more understandable the past few games where the ball hasn't been in his hands and instead in Lukas. Sure, AR will have to adjust his game with Luka but give him more than a couple games before saying he doesnt fit.

Also saying he had a bad game but got foul calls is literally what star players should do when they are having bad shooting nights. Like thats a plus when he can get to the line consistently even if hes shooting like (bleep).

He is our best point guard.

Essential.
