This is always interesting to me to see people say.

Reaves across the board(except efficiency because of that slow start) is putting up the same numbers or better than he did last year in more or less the same minutes.

Ya'll are just paying more attention to him now and expected him to come out the gates as a 17-20 PPG scorer this season. But that likely isn't in the cards when you already have scorers like DLO, LeBron, Davis in the starting lineup.

Besides, Reaves looked like "The Reaves of old.." in 6 of our last 8 games. I'd take that ratio for a season. Which is essentially 61-62 good games and 20 bad/underwhelming ones. I'm fine with that for a player like Reaves who seems to get better as the season goes on.

What I want Reaves to get better at and become obsessed over either during this season or the off-season is improving his defense.

Reeves has to improve his defense AND BALL SECURITY, can’t have games like he’s had with more turnovers (or about the same) than FGs made. The combination of both those things is what sent him to the bench initially and then limited his minutes to below 20min in the last win.

Austin is averaging 13/5/5 which is pretty much in line with my expectations of 15/5/5.

I think he's still catching up on his rest since he I think he played way too much bball with team USA over the summer.

If you think about it, last year was his first real NBA season where he got real starter minutes and then a playoff run.

I think AR will improve as the season progresses.

AR has hit his ceiling imo. Won’t get more athletic, has a bit of a frenetic pace which can occasionally backfire. He’s worth the money though. I trust him in big spots more than everyone else.

Steady game from AR with some huge clutch shot making. We'll forgive the missed FT.

I just wish he had a better answer for teams going straight through him defensively, maybe he needs to start taking as many charges as Lowry at his peak

Huge clutch 3 tonight. I saw that play developing on top of the key. I was like AR is letting this fly. Lebron was setting it up and reading Brooks the whole time.

Great bounce back game from AR.

This kid is a winner who executes in the brightest lights. Highly underrated trait. Another very strong intangibles guy just like Rui. These guys you just dont trade unless its for a definitive star and it better be a star that can still put up star numbers on the Lakers.

I honestly trust AR more for a game winning shot than anyone else on the team.

Efficiency doesn't matter so I'm not sure why you're glazing over that.
Last year he was really consistent post-ASB and his numbers were better than he's putting up now. Full season stats are just misleading.

He had a nice game yesterday. It's not even that AR lacks defensive skills but man he just gets bullied so easily. Him and DLO both. I'm not sure what he can do to improve on that.

Getting stronger and working on timing, angles and communication. Like DLO did.

When the person you’re guarding is stronger that is usually what will happen. Not all guards are that strong though. Steph and Trey are not going to bully Dlo/AR. FVV wasn’t bullying us. We just remember the worst of it.

Yeah but I remember it happening in the Rockets game too, maybe after a switch or a mismatch due to transition.

Geez what was AR doing or thinking here up 2 points? I think was the play that lost us the game.

Now it makes sense why teams didn’t throw the bag at him. Good role player but a liability on defense

Being a good role player is awesome for us. No one actually thought he was getting one of those ridiculous deals. He wasn’t going to magically get more athletic. He’s a gritty player that good teams need.

Embrace him for what he is. We are lucky. His good far out ways his bad.

His game is great when he's not trying to initiate contact all the time. This isn't like last season where the refs weren't familiar with his game. He has to adjust and he did in the 4th quarter of last game.

AR this season has been bad on D, he’s ranked 3rd worst among the team.

With that said, I still want him taking the last 2 shots that LeBron took that could’ve won/tied the game.

AR shows character of a good/great player. I’m looking at Caruso for Vincent/Fino and it makes more sense on paper to use AR/Rui to add Derozan or LaVine, but I don’t want to lose the ability a player like AR brings to be able to perform better under pressure, like at the end of games and post season.

The more time passes, the more I’m on board with AR being off limits.

People rotate on drivers leaving shooters wide open as if we don't have Anthony freaking Davis as the last line of defense X_X Yes it is a mistake to do that.

I just calculated his true shooting percentage for this season minus the first 5 games when he got off to such a bad start (in other words for the last 12 games). It's .645. Not as stratospheric as last season's .687 (which was the highest for a guard in NBA history!), but still an elite level for a guard.
