(We are a de-facto Nato member, says Ukrainian defence minister - BBC News)

Quote:
Ukraine’s defence minister said his country is a “de facto member” of the Nato alliance, as Western allies will continue to supply the country with weapons.

Oleksii Reznikov said "things were changing" in allied countries, and that he didn’t believe his comments would trigger a Russian response.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has framed his invasion of Ukraine as a battle of western countries and Nato, despite the military alliance taking steps to not be seen as a party to the conflict.

Ukraine is not an official member of Nato, but the President Volodymyr Zelenksy has pushed membership. Under Article 5 of the Nato Treaty, an armed attack against any member should be considered an attack against all.

He's going into homeless shelters. He's taking people in their 50s and 60s,” Stavridis explains. “Putin will take anything. It’s a sign of how difficult this fight has become for him."

(UK to send tanks to Ukraine to bolster war effort – BBC News)

Quote:
The UK is to send Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine to bolster the country's war efforts against Russia.

In a call with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak confirmed he would send the equipment and additional artillery systems, No 10 said.

While the Challenger tank is more than 20 years old, it will be the most modern tank at Ukraine's disposal, providing better protection and more accurate firepower.

President Zelensky thanked the UK, saying that the decision to send the tanks "will not only strengthen us on the battlefield, but also send the right signal to other partners".

(Russian missile strike in Ukrainian city Dnipro leaves many dead – BBC News)

Quote:
At least 25 people have died and more are missing after a Russian missile strike on an apartment building in Ukrainian city Dnipro.

A number of other cities across Ukraine were also targeted by Russian missiles on Saturday, including Kyiv, Kharkiv and Odesa.

Moscow said the missiles were aimed at Ukraine's military and energy infrastructure, but the strike in Dnipro hit the entrance of a nine-storey residential building, turning several floors into smouldering rubble.

Russia's missile barrage came on the same day that UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said his government would give Challenger 2 tanks to Ukraine’s armed forces in a bid to help "push Russian troops back".
