I won't call a multi-billionaire a clown. To me, Musk is the epitome of self-entitlement. He's of the ilk that believe they're above the law. Money is a character, personality molding ingredient.

What do you mean by "how triggered extreme lefts are with him?"

Ive never found him to be self entitled, but my dealings have only been business.

He's the epitome of self-entitled in business. He has taken $100s of millions in subsidies and gives nothing back.

Quote:
I don’t think that anyone is triggered by him potentially buying Twitter, but he was the poster child for the dreamers who think that we can do fine without fossil fuels.

It's very clear that we can definitely do just fine without fossil fuels with the appropriate actions. The ]dreamers are those like you who think that continued use of fossil fuels is not placing the future of this planet in grave danger.

Quote:
that Once it was announced that he was buying Twitter people began fearing that he would balance the rhetoric on that platform.

The "rhetoric" is perfectly balanced. There is just as much right wing discussion on Twitter as there is left wing. All that gets filtered is dangerous hate speech and threats of violence.

Quote:
I used to visit Twitter to keep up on Cardinal baseball scores but now that I found a better way to do that elsewhere I don’t visit it at all. It is a cesspool of ideas.

There is certainly a great deal of garbage there. But Twitter has also been very useful in the dissemination of useful discussion and organization.

We better be fine without fossil fuels because we are eventually going to have to.

"Eventually" being closer "immediately".

Elon Musk threatens to walk away from Twitter deal

Quote:
Elon Musk issued his most direct threat yet to walk away from his purchase of Twitter (TWTR) on Monday, openly accusing the social media company of breaching the merger agreement by not providing the data he has requested on spam and fake accounts.

In a letter to Twitter's head of legal, policy and trust, Vijaya Gadde, Musk alleged that Twitter is "actively resisting and thwarting his information rights" as outlined by the deal.

"This is a clear material breach of Twitter's obligations under the merger agreement and Mr. Musk reserves all rights resulting therefrom, including his right not to consummate the transaction and his right to terminate the merger agreement," an attorney representing Musk wrote to the company.

More evidence of how like Trump he is. Enter into an agreement, try to change the conditions, then threaten when he doesn't get what he asked for after the fact. Next step - they will sue him for breach of contract and he will counter sue them. All the while he will whine and complain, play the victim and then draw even more attention to himself like the drama queen, attention-w**** he is. Just like Trump. It's also a distraction from the fact that he just laid off 10% of Tesla's workforce and Tesla stock continues to tank. Again, using distraction to draw attention away from his flaws and business failures.

I'm not in the Musk orbit. Wondering how his mind work is futile. I look at what he does which is most times what he wants to and hope the effects are minimal if negative, maximum if positive.

let's face it, Elon is who Trump thinks he is.
Rich, Smart, rich,rich,rich,rich.
i don't like Elon's twitter behavior, but he is a very smart guy who has accomplished a lot for himself and the world, it is much more than Tesla, Starlink, Space X, etc, these are genius designs.

as far as the former guy goes, i just hope he goes....j/k

I want the deal to fall through because Musk has made it clear that if he gains control of Twitter he's going to let Trump back on the platform. He's a full-on right-wing, conspiracy believing fascist goon. He talks a good game about caring about the environment because he thinks it makes him appealing to potential consumers on the left. After the last year, no one I know will ever buy a Tesla.

And like Trump, Musk seems to have a cult following.

Amazing how these billionaires seem to have it all, yet a stunning number of them are whiners, self-entitled and attention-w*****.

Good Charlotte had it right in that song "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous."

Quote:
Always see it on T.V.
Or read in the magazines
Celebrities they want sympathy
All they do is piss and moan
Inside the Rolling Stone
Talkin' about how hard life can be

I'd like to see them spend a week
Livin' life out on the street
I don't think they would survive
But they could spend a day or two
Walking in someone else's shoes
I think they'd stumble and they'd fall
They would fall (fall)

Lifestyles of the rich and the famous
They're always complainin'
Always complainin'

Say what you will about Elon he's doing something very worthwhile not pertaining to business. This is a humanitarian effort. This is what I meant by

This falls into the maximum positive column.

US general says Elon Musk's Starlink has 'totally destroyed Putin's information campaign' LINK

NEW: Elon Musk's deal to buy Twitter is in serious jeopardy, three people familiar with the discussions say. Musk was unswayed by Twitter's data "firehose," his camp has stopped discussions with at least one likely backer, drastic action could be coming https://t.co/D9JlrmdAVB

The Twitter board said he is legally bound to buy Twitter and expect him to go through with the deal. This is another thing Musk and Trump have in common -- backing out of agreements and lawsuits.

Elon Musk hits back at Twitter's court threat in the most Elon Musk way possible

LINK
Quote:

Early Monday, Musk tweeted four images of him laughing next to captions that read: "They said I couldn't buy Twitter. Then they wouldn't disclose bot information. Now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court. Now they have to disclose bot information in court."

That was soon followed by a picture of actor Chuck Norris playing chess with only a single pawn on his side of the board, and a complete set of pieces on the other side, with Musk tweeting, "Chuckmate."

Racist tweets quickly surfaced after Musk closed Twitter deal
Quote:
“Elon now controls twitter. Unleash the racial slurs. K---S AND N-----S,” said one account, using slurs for Jews and Black people. “I can freely express how much I hate n-----s … now, thank you elon,” another said.

In a tweeted letter Thursday, Musk had sought to soothe advertisers worried over the moderation changes by saying he did not want it to become a “free-for-all hellscape.”

But the first hours of his purchase have shown how difficult that promise could be. One account, created this month, included a Nazi swastika as its profile picture and retweeted quotes from Musk alongside antisemitic memes. Another tweet, showing a video montage glorifying Nazi Germany with the comment, “I hear that there have been some changes around here,” was liked more than 400 times.

Racial slurs were posted rampantly overnight. One single-word tweet, showing a single racial slur in all capital letters, was retweeted more than 500 times and liked more than 4,000 times. It was tweeted at 9 p.m. Thursday night and remained online nearly 12 hours later.

Some of Twitter's top executives were fired, including CEO Parag Agrawal, chief financial officer Ned Segal, chief legal officer Vijaya Gadde and general counsel Sam Edgett, and the company will likely be launching an internal investigation, according to the source.
