Don’t get your hopes us. He’s only 1 of 10 they’re interviewing.
This could end badly like in 2012 hiring of D’Antoni. _________________ |

Y'all really need to change the title of this thread to just "Coaching Search and News," so separate threads doesn't need to be made and all the news and discussion can go in here.
The interviewed Stotts and Mark Jackson. I don't like that the people that are present are Jeanie Buss, Rob Pelinka, Kurt Rambis, Jesse Buss, and Joey Buss. That is way to many opinions, to be honest. |

TDRock, let’s just say that we should all be content and excited if we get Terry Stotts over Mark Jackson, hearing that we are actually serious about Jackson makes me wanna punch the wall, this guy could literally back off the Kings job and convince this incompetent FO that he’s the guy |

I should have clarified that I meant Lillard. We don’t need more small old guards who can’t defend. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Chris Paul is a small guard but is playing great basketball, I honestly can’t explain the significant Improve Lillard has over Westbrook. |

Lillard is no Chris Paul. And Westbrook isn’t owed $130 mil the next 3 seasons, he is gone after one. Hopefully the FO has learned from their mistakes and don’t compound them. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

The only concern with Lillard right now is how he comes back from his recent major injury but if he’s back and playing like we know he could he is essentially in the same tier of PGs as CP3/Doncic/Trae. |

Oh... I love Dame but yeah. For me I'd like to see the Lakers move past the "Galaxy of Stars" approach to building a roster and develop some new talent that will serve us better in the long run. |

Still a difference between what they should do and what they will do. They star chase and get 10 people involved in interviewing 10 people, it's a mess. They lean toward dillusion in star chasing, that's why we have Lillard.
It's the most current FO thing to do. Scare Ham away, miss out on a few quality (lowballed) up and coming coaching prospects and then sign Stotts in hopes of Klutch pulling Lillard from Goodwin and trying to force a deal like AD did. Then give up two 1sts to double down on this star plan and hope Rob can get the ring chasing merry minimums ro actually fit.
I'm not saying it's a good plan, but tell me you don't think after Dame's meeting with AD and LBJ that they aren't going to try this. Maybe Stotts is just a solid candidate (I think he is), but don't be shocked if we end up with this as a "plan" |

Dame gets Portland into the playoffs and wins 50 games a year with first only LaMarcus and then later only CJ
Yet some of you think that he's done at 32 but LBJ is still worth keeping for a new extension at 37?
And some of you think AD was worth trading half of our assets even though he accomplished much less with the Pelicans?
I don't get this at all.
Dame isn't a super athlete like Ja... he's skilled... maybe in the vein of Steph, Kyrie, or CP3 but just a hair below. So I don't think he's done unless he has some degenerative condition I don't know about.
If he could get off his shot with only CJ and Nurkic... who knows what he'd accomplish with LBJ and AD.
If you can get Dame for Russ... you do this, even if you lose a pick
Hell, I'd also do the Perkins trade idea of Kyrie for AD.
Or even Dame for AD though those are much less ideal.
But if you can get Dame for Russ... you do it for sure. |

Is that what it would be? A DameL for RussRuss scenario?
Hmm 🤔 |

Nope, Blazer fans would riot outside of Moda center, if you want Dame it’s gonna take AD to entice the Blazers. |

Was Dame a huge fan of the guy who couldn’t get them into the Finals?
And how does hiring him make our pupu player more enticing for Portland? |

He's a decent coach, but his teams have struggled on defense and been shown to be a problem in the playoffs.
To his credit he did get a lot out of CJ/Dame in Portland. |
