Max 4 for 4 from 3 with 15 pts and 9 rebounds in his first game as a Mav. Look, I would make this trade any day of the week if I’m the Lakers but this trade is not as lopsided as everyone thinks. The Mavs got a good one in Max Christie. He’s still 21 and figures to get much better. He’s gonna be an elite 3 and D specialist.

He could end up being more than that.

I remember how well M Gasol turned out on a lopsided trade.

I agree regarding Christie and also the comparison to the Gasol trade. That one was thought to be incredibly lopsided at first (remember Stephen A. Smith) but in the end it turned out to be a good trade for both teams. If Kyrie can get healthy, the Mavs will be really good.

Love Luka and the new look Lakers. But going to miss Max Christie and what he became. His improvement game to game was a joy to watch from the beginning of the season to now is night and day. He’s going to have a role in the nba for a very long time. Hope maybe one day he can come back. He had a good game today 4 for 4 from 3.

Max first 3 games as a Mavs.

17.7ppg
5.7rpg
3apg
53% fg
60% 3fg

We finally found our starting SG… Just gave him as a filler.

Not filler. He was no doubt a requested asset. Other teams have player evaluators who watch games too. And it was clear to everyone that Max was a player on the rise, and his contract is amazing for his production. If he keeps improving at the rate he has, he’ll be giving AR major comp for best contract value in the league next season.

We didn’t steal Luka from the Mavs. We actually gave them good enough asset

I know he’s not a laker anymore but how long until we’re allowed to say that max is breaking out? Another great game tonight. He’s put up at least 13 ppg efficiently since 1/30 against the wizards. He seems to be getting better and better. He’s doing this off the bench now.

Lol

Klay Thompson on his new teammate Max Christie: “I thought that was Doug Christie’s son for like years. I clarified that with him and they’re not related. Same measurables y’know. 6’6 off guard so” – via reddit

When it's a nearly unanimous consensus that we fleeced the Mavs in the trade, you're really implying we could have negotiated even harder to keep Max? That somehow he was simply a throw in? Wow.

Pretty sure Mavs insisted on max and not some filler. price is worth it for AD. Glad he's balling!

the lakers knew what they had in Max. so did the Mavs. we traded a perennial all-star in AD PLUS a potential star in Max for a 25 year old SUPERSTAR in Luka. Max was NOT a "throw in". neither team would say that about Max.

as Buddy Ackerman said in Swimming with Sharks (Kevin Spacey) - "you gotta give action to get action".
