Don't complain "We need a defensive wing that can shoot 40% from three" when we don't have that ever again.

Weird because AD and Luka almost have similar salary… I guess AD staright up was not enough for the Mavs.

They want to compete and they have a need for defense on the perimeter.
I suspect they said AD/Max/'29/'31 for Luka/Kleber and Rob negotiated down '31. Christie is good! Looks like other GMs recognize it, sadly for us

Now we have bigger holes on our team and it’s more unbalanced.

Thought I'd pipe in here as well, really going to miss Max Christie dammit. He had become my favorite Laker.

Really hope Luca changes all that as advertised. Hoping for 73 point Luca after all star break.

Sad to see him go when he was just coming into his own. But you have to do that trade 10 times out of 10.

Losing Max will be a nightmare for us going forward. We are going to regret it. The kid has grown so much in such a short time. He has a chance to be something special.

We finally found a starting SG defender and a line-up that works. Damn this one going to bother me for a while.

Max was growing into an essential role for this team - a KCP-like defensive 2-way off-guard. This leaves a hole on the team that no one else currently fills.

Gonna be a tough loss, for sure

Rob really needs to scan the trade market for a replacement

Really, really hate losing this kid.
He is becoming a defensive stud with a nice developing offensive game.
Apparently Dallas sees that potential in Max too. Good luck Max!

With no Max and no AD, we're likely to see 300 point games.

I'm sure going to miss Max, both because I liked him as a person from what I'd seen of him, and because of the kind of player I think he could be.

Am I the only one here who kept getting growing rookie Kobe vibes from him?

Obviously not the scorer or anything that Kobe was...but Max was getting this 'Mamba' look in his eyes, lanky young Kobe form, taking pride in his defense and his offensive skills and strength were starting to blossom (perfect evidence of this for me was last night when he went for that layup at MSG and basically hung in the air and powered through the defender to lay it in).

I tend to be very optimistic about player potentials but I feel like he could really become a star.

Best of luck Max...still psyched we got Luka.

Dude averaged 10+ppg 39% from 3 as a starter and chased the more athletic/tougher assignments. I really think his addition to the Doncic trade was understated. They probably wanted him more than Reaves due to 2-way potential if you ask me. I would have been more than ok with Reaves instead being in the trade (although Reaves is vastly more liked and popular).

Good luck Max.

Yeah Christie's archetype is less common, a true 3&D off-guard with decent size and still developing.

Imposing his will on other players.. no longer being afraid of them and making them know you will never back down... that was what I saw coming together for him

Dunks.. Threes... and he barely ever ever talked any trash or really complained about anything..

That late dunk last night.. he is finding a way to get to the rim too
