Corner 3 is pure. Got a learning experience on how to avoid fouls when giving back pressure, but I’m sure he will figure it out.

If Someone has to lose minutes when Reaves comes back, please let it be Brown. We need to play max as he is our young core. Brown is just a journeyman

Christie will be a gem. He'll be a rotation regular for us next season, hopefully he can continue to get minutes this season in some way, too

3 + D

Amazing how good our drafting has been, makes me excited to see what we can do with our first rounder this year (if we don't deal it again somehow)

This is true. But, I believe a lot of his fouls can be attributed to him getting rookie calls. Rookies usually don't get the benefit of the doubt in 50/50 plays, like when offensive players drive to the basket and there's contact.

But, to also speak to a larger point, I hate those types of aforementioned where the offensive players are able to drive to the basket, and them jump into retreating defenders, initiating contact, and getting the foul call on the defender. The NBA needs to really look into these types of calls, and make it an emphasis to eliminate this. It's basically the same as shooters jumping into defenders, which the league has cleaned up. Now, you rarely see guys doing that anymore.

Poor mans Mikhail Bridges.. and I mean that as a compliment. Nice end of rotation piece and perhaps one day a fringe starter guy but even at end of rotation, his game is perfect for style of play today.

Since Reaves is out, run this lineup

Schroder
Christie
Lebron
Rui
AD

Schroder, Rui, and Christie are shooting 41% from the corners

I actually like that lineup. I would switch Rui and LeBron, but that's just semantics since they both play the Forward spot. But, I REALLY doubt Hamm does this, unless we experience some injuries, or something. Max is not going to get starting minutes over vet guys. It's not a matter of "deserves". It's just the way the league is. Coaches value experience.

Pretty mind boggling that you don’t play your best perimeter defender.

Pay (bleep) attention, Ham.

Ham you turtle head, I understand we have some vets to implement, but do not forget about Christie. Instead of giving garbage time to Walker who will leave this summer prioritize our team's development and play Christie. Even ahead of Brown (when we have big leads).

The kid is a better shooter than most of these old heads and can actually play defense.

19 years old. This is when going up against NBA players help you develop FASTER than others.

I’m ok with Christie being brought along slowly. He’s protected now that he’s buried on the bench. Please don’t forget how much pressure these guys are on and what the LA crowd does to young players.

He showed us enough to be excited about him, but let’s allow him to develop slowly. Hit the weight room, watch from the bench, learn from all of these bets around you, and become the very best you can over the summer.

He may be getting bigger minutes next season when players like Troy brown, Lonnie walker, reed leave. Until then relax.

Im sure they will throw him in a few playoff games at some point so he can get an idea of what that’s like. Other than that I don’t expect to see him much more this season.

Mos def!
If he's basically out of the rotation, he'll probably get in some games with the South Bay Lakers. I'm looking forward to seeing him develop.
Any kind of game experience will only help him to improve.

I mean like garbage minutes. Maybe someone fouls out or gets suspended. Who knows.

Agree with pio2u, there is little time for the Lakers to practice during the season, Christie would get many more minutes in the G League. Sitting on the bench and getting garbage minutes won’t get it done.

I don’t mind that we’re G leaking him this year but for the love of God don’t trade him Max Christie is going to end up being a good player. We need young players in our pipeline and getting away from the old guys trying to fill out the roster, except for our two stars.

I think Max Christie with his ability to play defense. The sky is the limit just let him continue to work on his game.

That's fine.
Lonnie and Gabriel are our 11th and 12th guys anyway.

Plus Max getting more actual game action, albeit G-League, is a good thing too.

This is the right decision.. We will be losing several players this off Season so let him get all the experience he can in the G League because we'll likely need him much more next Season.

Kind of nice to have a little bit of depth again finally where a move like this actually makes sense.

Max Christie is a G-League level player. Maybe eventually he will find spot overseas.

He is still a kid and now all of a sudden, we have a deeper, more well-rounded roster. Giving him a chance to play is a good thing. I expect him back on our roster next season, since likely not everyone will stay.
