Just a comment; the highest percent shooter in history is Steve Kerr at
about .454 or close to that as an average; that's' crazy. So Swider has
done a great job "so far". _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team !
Swider’s ability to shoot on the move is the most intriguing part to me. Lots of “specialists” can hit near 40% catch and shoot on open threes. It’s the ability to come off of a pin down, or rotate to an open spot, or attack a closeout and still shoot a high clip that makes for the greatest gravity because it takes more than one defender to slow that down.
We have to see if he can hang with NBA level athletes, but offensively I could see him being used in sets like those GS runs for Klay. _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night.
Dude makes Contested 3s consistently. We currently don't have another player that can hit WIDE OPEN THREES consistently.
We have not had THIS good of a shooter since probably 2008 Sasha Vuejic aka "The Machine". It's nice to finally have somebody we can rely on in a skillet this organization has been so lost on.
Meh, not so much as being good as in being fortunate here. Swider really should have been the 35th pick instead and locked up for 3 years or whatever the max allowed.
Just remember, if he's not hitting near 45% from 3, he's gonna give up more than get. Do you guys think he's better than last year's Melo?
How much better or worse on offense?
How much better or worse on defense?
His age vs Melo’s experience, I like the comp, min salary gamble is worth the risk, we should lock up that dude Huff too with the 2-way (over Pippen if need to, we have tons of guards)

The picks of Ingram, Nance, and even the reacquired T. Bryant, and others proves that it's both good and fortunate. It's the trades we're screwing up!

Aieesh... Sasha was turrible in every conceivable way including hairband. I'd go back to Rice.
All you need to know about Sasha is this
I remember his crying moments on the bench (the one time a teammate tried to reassure him w/ a hand on the shoulder that he violently elbowed away, haha) and his eyebrow combing at the free throw line more than that. I've always detested that fancy lad. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL SEDALE TRIBUTE EDDIE DONX!
Sincere question. What can Buddy Hield do for the Lakers that Swider can’t do?
He can chuck the ball up more. He has the more recognizable name, that’s pretty much it.
Plus plays a different position where we don't need him to be our interior defense or provide weak side rim protection. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!

And for a shooter only made 36% of his 3pt shots last season; definitely
a shooter, just not elite. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team !
Just looking at Swider”s threes. Only 2 makes involved a dribble. Everything else was catch and shoot. Really only one of them was on the move.
Only 3 that were from the corner areas. Most were from the wings. Which is great as you can have lesser shooters park in the corners while you scheme for him in other areas if you want.
Only 2 … two … would I classify as unchallenged where someone couldn’t get there to put up some kind of challenge.
The reason to want him to play against higher level competition is not the shooting. I think the shooting is legit. I'd want to see him have to try and fit on defense. I mean if you have AD, Bron, 2 other players locked in, you could probably run Swider with them. But I have some concerns as a rookie and his limitations how he'd fit in against regular season NBA lineups.
Personally, right now I'd pencil Swider and Reaves as starters, even if they aren't really that good. We need some team chemistry and some players that will play off AD/Bron. I doubt Ham will go this way, and likely I see us starting two of the FA signings.
