Last year I wanted Cam Thomas to be a Laker. I was hoping we could trade for him. He’s going to be a star, with Kyrie traded.

I bet the Lakers could get multiple firsts+ from the Nets if they took on Ben Simmons' contract.
Simmons + Harris + multiple firsts for Westbrook.

If we got 70% of the old Ben Simmons that would be a long lineup that could be formidable with guards coming off the bench.

1) Utah Jazz (they lost tonight to a Luka and Markieff-less Dallas team)
Westbrook, JTA, 2027 1st (Top 5 Protected), 2029 1st (unprotected) for Conley, Beasley, Vanderbilt, Gay
2) San Antonio/Cleveland
To Lakers: Kevin Love
To Spurs: Pat Bev, Neto, Lamar Stephens, x2 2nds from Cleveland, x1 second rounder from LAL
To Cavs: Richardson, Walker, Damian Jones, Gabriel
Lakers Roster:
PG: Conley/Schroder/
SG: Beasley/Reaves/Christie
SF: Rui/Brown Jr/
PF: LeBron/Love/Gay
C: Davis/Vanderbilt/Bryant
That’s a team with a lot of size, and a lot of three point shooting. A playoff rotation of Conley/Beasley/Rui/LeBron/AD with Schroder, Reaves, Love, Vanderbilt off the bench is quite scary.
Also a couple open roster spots for buy-out guys. |

You have to imagine that, if that's the ask now, Rob is waiting till the last moment to see who he can leverage to give us a proper deal. You just know there are multiple teams who want our picks, but who think they can wring some kind of Laker tax out of us right now. I believe they can only offer 2 FRP. One from this year, and one in 2029. I don't think they can deal the 2027 pick because it's conditional, but maybe I'm looking at the wrong info. I posted a couple hours ago about this, but I have a hard time seeing something like Claxton and even Cam Thomas, plus the 2 FRP and Simmons, getting it done for Siakam. If there are teams willing to pay 3 FRP for OG, then the value for Siakam has to be quite a bit higher. |
