As my first post here, I decree…
- No to Dennis (bleep) Schroder.
- No to more guards unless we get Irving.
- No to Dennis (bleep) Schroder.
- Cole Swider shines like a light in a beacon.
- Did I mention no to Dennis Schroder? |

Even so, it makes so little sense with Westbrook, Nunn, Reaves, THT, Walker, etc.
It would be total malpractice to even consider getting another point guard from free agency right now unless we’re moving Westbrook, Nunn and THT at once. |
Disagree. I think Schroeder is the best remaining free agent. If we can get him for the minimum, I grab him in a second. That gives us more flexibility to trade some of the other guys. |

It sure does seem like everything is in a holding pattern until there is some more clarity on the KD situation. I imagine that's what the Lakers are waiting for to see if they have a shot at Kyrie. Zach Lowe said on his podcast says he thinks there might be a couple of teams that are still interested in trading for KD. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Are people really against Schroder on a minimum contract?
The guy is so much better than Westbrook is right now. He brings defense, and his offense isn't disruptive to other players' offense like Westbrook's is.
Play Schroder and let Westbrook stay home. Westbrook is not going to improve his value by putting up great stats in a losing situation. Westbrook already did that last season, and his reputation across the league is where it is at right now because of it.
If the Lakers can't find a Westbrook trade before the season starts, the next opportunity is at the trade deadline when teams play themselves out of playoff contention and are looking to dump salary more.
Westbrook's trade value is that of an expiring contract, nothing more or less. That's not going to change. The need and desire of teams to dump salary will change though. |

Hypothetically if we sign DS to a vet min somebody will have to waived or traded. Lakers like to keep a roster spot open for buyouts, etc. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

Is all this Schröder talk stemming from that three nano-second exchange he and Bron had on Insta? |

If you need to open up a roster spot later, you could just waive someone when you actually need the spot.
There isn't any benefit to waiving someone now unless you waived someone with a non-guaranteed contract who you didn't have to pay.
I think only Stanley Johnson falls into that category, and I doubt we'd waive him. |

That, and the fact that is one of the last solid players who has not signed on with a team. |

Ok. I guess when the season starts they will want 14 players on the roster. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

We don't need 4 bigs. Jones/Bryant/AD is enough. And LeBron can play center at times. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

What would be funnier? Lakers trade for Pat Bev while keeping Westbrook? Or trading for Kyrie Irving and then signing Dennis Schroder?

I would sign Schroeder. He actually fit well with Lebron and played great defense while he was here, especially early before all the injuries.
We don’t know how healthy Kendrick Nunn is either |
