BREAKING: The Lakers are in serious discussions with Cedi Osman’s agent on a deal that would land Osman in LA, sources tell me and @BR_NBA

Cedi is a close personal friend of LeBron James.

This is from SixthmanJake from Twitter take it with a grain of salt, it was reported today that Real Madrid is in advanced talks to sign Osman, could a chance to reunite with LeBron change those plans?

Jake said if he gets signed it will be a prove it deal like how Boston did it with Lonnie Walker, I have no clue what Kwame has anything to do with this

He’s comparing Jake to NBACentel a Twitter account that literally makes it obvious that it reports fake news, I never said Jake is legit btw, but since Osman is indeed in talks with Real Madrid maybe the Lakers story has legs because LeBron is good friends with Osman so he can change his mind on going to Europe

Dude has good size 6’7” 240lbs and can play a little defense plus hit 1 or 2 threes per game at a decent clip. He could be insurance against Knecht/MaxChris to make up for the absence of TPrince’s production.

However, I don’t see him as much different than Reddish tho so unless the Lakers are giving up on MaxLew, or if CamRed has been doing something unthinkable in the off season lol!, then I don’t really see any increased value to add Osman.

It’s gonna be a camp deal if he gets signed, I would think that Max Lewis would probably get waived to make room for Osman if he ends up Impressing the Lakers during training camp/pre season

That would be a good plan imo.

Free agent guard Talen Horton-Tucker has agreed to a partially guaranteed deal with the Chicago Bulls, sources tell @TheAthletic. The Chicago native returns home and will have an opportunity to make Bulls roster after averaging 10.5 points over the last two seasons in Utah.

Rooting for THT to reach his potential, seems like a cool dude, hopefully he doesn’t mess up this opportunity or else this might be his last stop in the NBA

Isn’t Bodon another guard? Why do we keep collecting guards when we can easily sign a useful big off the waiver wire and Invite him to camp…

Camp fodder, these no names will be among the first cuts come preseason. Only guy who matters to us is Moses Brown due to him being a legit big but again we are capped with roster slots so he's likely dumped if he doesn't accept a G League invite.

The only guy we would waive someone like Max Lewis for is Cedi Osman, I do not want another raw big man getting minutes on this team, we need established vets helping AD and Bron

It's amazing how bad an eye for pro talent our front office has. There are a half dozen plus players in the last three to four years we've given real salary or roles to that have quickly proven not to be NBA talent ir well past their NBA level.

Nunn, Trez, THT, Walker, Westbrook, Ariza, Ellington, Carmelo, just to name a few.

To be fair to Carmelo, he did say the Knicks wanted to sign him but he didn’t want to, still more useful as a player then Reddish and Max Lewis so if he wanted to be back in the NBA again I would welcome him back with open arms

I despise the way Lewis plays but it's unfair to compare him to Reddish, he was a 2nd round upside play, those don't pan out too often. Reddish is trash. I could forgive a trash signing if it was a one year "prove it" contract but giving him a PO? Who were we even competing with? I get it with Christian Wood, but Reddish???

Pretty obvious there is still some within the Lakers organization that has belief in what Cam Reddish can become, If the Lakers didn’t think that they would have waived him for another FA by now

Glad we are doing all we can to bolster our team's needs. Much better than what other teams like the Cs are doing, signing some no name camp fodder like Lonnie Walker.

I honestly don't even know how much some of these potential small moves could've helped.

Hayes, Reddish, and Wood aren't great by any stretch, but low minute guys aren't going to be amazing. They can contribute every once in awhile, which is what should be expected.

I guess it would've been worth taking a shot on someone to see if they can be something better like Malik Monk was.

I think this is the one spot where there needs to be a big. I've been against putting in major resources for one since AD at the 5 is going to be the best option in most cases, but the Lakers do need the versatility to go bigger in specific match-ups. In 2020, the Lakers had JaVale and Dwight on cheap deals.

I actually disagree. If you took Melo from his last year and put him on the team that made the wcf I think we win it all just off a scoring burst when Denver has us going dry. He wasn’t great or prime but he still had a useful nba skill and got buckets. Hell if you took that Melo and that Dwight and added them to Bron, AD, Dlo, Reaves, Vando, Denis, Rui, and Walker.

Agree that Melo is the player from that list one could make the best argument about. But his defense was atrocious and if he was a player of no notoriety, I doubt he would have been in anyone's rotation. He looks good by comparison to the other misfits Pelinka put on the roster. But that is saying very little.

BTW, Rob said he thought that team was the greatest collection of talent in league history. That alone should tell us about his evaluation skills.

You can't waive him without paying him and taking the tax hit once
you sign someone else.

What sucks is all good players that were available for cheap while we had to sit on our hands.

Plumlee, Trent, T.Jones, Prince, Dinwiddie, Delon Wright
