JTA OUT

I am watching him on Spectrum standing on the sidelines in street clothes. Trudell is saying that they held him out as a precaution after that little back tweak in the Golden State game. But they would not classify him as "injured".

AND NOW LONNIE WALKER - In Game Injuries

Per Buha

Lonnie Walker IV was down holding what looked like his left leg. Unclear what happened. He just got up and walked back to the locker room.

https://twitter.com/jovanbuha/status/1580404378724274177?s=46&t=KqvHnbn0FAfv96yKZ8lGWA

Per Turner

Lonnie Walker IV goes down and limps to Lakers locker room after Patrick Beverley collided with him in the third quarter.

LONNIE SPRAIN MILD

Per Buha

Darvin Ham says Lonnie Walker IV has a “mildly” sprained left ankle and he’ll be re-evaluated tomorrow.

https://twitter.com/jovanbuha/status/1580421428184088576?s=46&t=y6V88DmNB0tNKpqmhnk9wA

Yes, same ankle as the beginning of training camp

https://twitter.com/jovanbuha/status/1580424176497590272?s=46&t=y6V88DmNB0tNKpqmhnk9wA

Further in his post-game Ham says that - for now - Lonnie says he feels fine and he was one of the folks standing in the hallway greeting players when they went back to the locker room etc. But of course they won't really know how he feels until tomorrow.

MORE COMPLETE STATEMENT ON JTA

Per Trudell

Juan Toscano-Anderson didn’t play tonight due to a bruised lower back that resulted from a fall on the court on Sunday against Golden State.

He’ll be evaluated tomorrow before his status for Friday’s preseason finale is determined.

JUAN AND LONNIE A-OK

Per Trudell

Darvin Ham said Lonnie Walker IV (left last night’s game with an ankle injury) felt great and went through practice with “no problem.”

Juan Toscano-Anderson (back bruise suffered at GSW, did not play vs. Minnesota) is also good to go.

Both will play tomorrow.

https://twitter.com/lakersreporter/status/1580662396309250048?s=46&t=wG2CLTRL5d93wOOc_Q5Gfw

Per McTen

Darvin Ham says both Lonnie Walker and Juan Toscano-Anderson went through practice today and he anticipates they will be available in Friday’s preseason finale.

I'm only here for the cheap thrill of beating TD to the punch while she is still in preseason form:

@ShamsCharania
Lakers’ Dennis Schroder has suffered a finger injury and his status is up in the air ahead of regular season next week, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Schroder will not play in tonight’s game vs. Kings and is undergoing testing on severity and return timetable.

THE SUMMARY - ICYMI

Per McTen

Beyond Russell Westbrook coming off the bench tonight in SAC, more lineup news: Anthony Davis (lower back tightness) did not make the trip, per the team. Dennis Schroder (thumb) is out, per sources. Lonnie Walker IV and Juan Toscano-Anderson are expected to play, per Darvin Ham.

https://twitter.com/mcten/status/1581002036870402048?s=46&t=yGUhxJTBBFaR1awfrXEVoA

Davis sitting out is purely precautionary. He will play in the season opener in GSW. Schroder's injury will likely cause him to miss some time to start the season.

I'm sure they would have liked to see the rotation they're going to start the season with at least once before the GSW game.

LONNIE'S OUT TOO

Per Trudell

Anthony Davis and Lonnie Walker IV are both out tonight for precautionary reasons.

But both will “definitely play” in season opener.

Russ just didn't want to come off the bench and be out there while they were spiraling down during the game. He walked off right after a turnover too.

UPDATES

Schrö

Per Goon

Darvin Ham says Dennis Schröder has a thumb ligament injury that is still being evaluated and might take a little longer to heal. Technically he is considered “day to day” as is Russell Westbrook.

https://twitter.com/kylegoon/status/1581739281105661952?s=46&t=jJ8uqHB2xYI867Hs7EtVlQ

Per Buha

Russell Westbrook (hamstring) and Dennis Schroder (finger) are both “day to day,” per Darvin Ham. Ham said Westbrook has a chance to play in the opener. Schroder’s recovery will likely be longer.

https://twitter.com/jovanbuha/status/1581739675575758848?s=46&t=jJ8uqHB2xYI867Hs7EtVlQ

AD & Lonnie (& Troy)

Per Trudell

Lonnie Walker IV looked “great” in practice after missing last game as a precaution. AD also has “no restrictions whatsoever” ahead of the opener.

Troy Brown Jr. is still a few weeks away, though he’s making progress.
