It seems like Darvin wants to have 2 of Bron/DLO/Schro on the floor at all times with AR sprinkled in throughout. Makes a ton of sense to have multiple playmakers on the floor at all times.

Austin could start in place of Beasley but this works fine as well.

I do feel for Lonnie who was playing fantastic here and there earlier in the year and in a contract year is not out the rotation in place of Brown and mostly Dennis. Between he and Dennis, only one can get regular mins and I guess Ham favors DS. I personally would have bench unit be Bamba, Rui, Brown, Lonnie, Austin.

D'lo and Beasley 3 pt volume is the only thing allowing vando to be on the floor with Davis and Bron. Wouldn't work at the same level with Reaves.

In my own lineup I had Austin starting.
But I think Beasley starting is good for the team as a whole.
Having Austin off the bench gives us 2 semi play makers in the 2nd unit with Dennis. With 2 in the starting lineup with Bron and DLo.

Can you believe we only have 2 guys who make the vet min in this 10 man rotation? And they're both off the bench? Man having a real roster is fantastic!

I think the best rotation Ham did this season is the 2nd Half vs the Pelicans. He immediately subbed Bron in after all the starters are resting. Ham rest Bron early in the 3rd and put him back late im the 3rd together with the bench mob, and that is where they blew out the Pelicans.

Should not let all those 5 bench players play together at the same time on the court though, they need Bron or DLo to lead them, like what Ham did in the 2nd half.

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing that second squad play together. But, instead of constantly watching Dennis probe from the perimeter, I would play through Rui in the post. Also, mix in some motion offense involving Reaves.

I'd be good w/ this lineup.
I know people like Rui, but we need a hustle wing next to AD and Lebron.
He and AD will help cover the defensive deficiencies of DLO and Beas.

One nice advantage of this group, which we saw starting tonite, is that Dlo, Beasley, and Vandy all played together on Minny and have good chemistry together. Can make the adjustment to the new team faster and easier, which is a big plus when there is little room for error.

True. And like Mo and DLo said, when you have AD and Lebron it's easy to fit in.

I know we all love the new lineup. But man, having Lebron back is such a difference.

This is the most excited I've been to watch the Lakers since 2020. Despite the front office hatred etc... here I am, excited to watch basketball again!

This is a deep team with a lot of potentially perfect synergy, and if the core here is held together over the summer, I think this squad is poised to make some noise next year if not THIS year.

Not just DLO, who I'm thrilled to have back with a few concerns. Vanderbilt, Beasley, Rui, Reaves, the subtraction of Westbrook, this just has the makings of a really great team.

The game felt like we were ahead by much more than we were and that is due to the missed FTs. The starting lineup is golden. Beasley is better defensively than I thought, and that was my main worry with putting him in the starting lineup. Now I think you have to

I would like to see substitutions staggered and not rigidly conformed to preset plans. This would allow sticking with the hot hand offensively and sticking with good defensive matchups that are working well. Vandi’s time mirroring BI seems like it would have been a better decision that subbing him out for TBjr to stick with pre-set rotations. Also, It didn’t look like it was effective to see all five reserves on the court at the same time like against the Pelicans.

Also regarding the line up, AD and LBJ have to have some of their rest time overlap but some part should staggered so that there is less time when both are off the floor.

All that being said…I really enjoyed the starting unit and the he reserves. Playing the 3 former T-Wolves together (Dlo/Beasley/Vandi) was genius and could mitigate the challenges of integrating so many new players on the fly without trading camp/pre-season. It also helped to match existing Lakers (Schro/Reaves/TBjr/Rui) who have been playing together all season.

A very under-rated aspect is the gravity he demands with his off-ball movement, even when he's cold. I don't mind him starting as long as we have Vandy taking the tougher wing assignment. The problem is that any team with two bigger wings (Clips, Celtics) will feast.

One more thing about the starting lineup, they assisted on every basket. 13 assists for 13 baskets in 13 minutes. Man it was beautiful.

That second lineup where Ham subbed out only Lebron for Troy actually had a better net rating than the starting lineup by about 7 points. Small sample size, but I hope it continues.

Much better than anything we had earlier in the season. Vando can help out Davis with rebounding and defense and Russell can help out Legramps with offense. Beasley can just do what he does... chuck up mad 3's, hopefully at 40% plus.
