So the next four games should be marked as L's. |

if Ham's looking for a defensive guard, there's a guy by the name of Austin Reaves that changed the tenor of the game. |

4:42 left in the game, Russ comes in with the Lakers up 8. Here are the shots from that point on.
Lillard made layup
LeBron missed 3
Grant missed midrange
Russ missed 3
Lillard made 3
Davis made dunk (Russ assist)
Grant missed 3
LeBron made layup
- 1:56, Lakers up 7.
Lillard made two FT (Davis foul)
Beverly missed 3
Nurkic made putback
LeBon missed 3
Simons made layup
Russ missed midrange
Lillard made 3
- 12.4, Lakers down 2
LeBron made dunk
Grant made layup

Dame scores 10 in the last four minutes while setting up his teammates for good looks. The Lakers take half their shots from three (missing them all) and otherwise try to let the air out of the ball leading to poor looks with a short clock. Russ did take a questionable shot going for a 2-for-1, but otherwise wasn't as the center of the collapse.
**Edit - though I totally agree Russ shouldn't be playing in crunch time. Hurts your spacing and is prone to hero ball errors. |
Lazy way to put a story of the game… Russ disrupted the flow on both sides. Blazers didn’t have to guard him. Also put the Lakers in a defensive and rebounding disadvantage by going smaller. Not to mention going 2for1 with the lead. |

Ham's lying because he pulled Westbrook for the final defensive possession. _________________ Under New Management |

Only because defense isn’t on paper. He and AD led the way shooting 16% from 3. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I would suggest the opposite is actually the truth, that it's lazy to just point at Russ and say he's the problem anytime the team fails. He defended well tonight, and had a couple decent plays on the offensive end. He's a flawed role player on a team with a bunch of flawed role players. He also happens to make $47 million and put his foot routinely in his mouth. It is what it is.
The solution includes not closing with Russ, but it surely doesn't end there. _________________ Charter Member Austin “Team USA” Reaves fan club. |

25-118 from 3 point range.
Horrible!!!
Trade some of these bums for shooters? We don’t need a bunch of point guards that can’t shoot either.
What is wrong with the Lakers front office? Aren’t they that stupid? |

Extremes. Lebron had a decent game, neither great nor bad. That's not where the issue lies, but I understand people need to vent. |

He did. But him and AD shooting 16% from 3 didn’t help, nor did letting Grant blow by him. But I get it, Lebron is in his 20th season. That is why I wouldn’t blame the loss on any specific player, it was a team loss. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I think every matchup from now on should be the Los Angeles non-shooters vs. insert professional nba shooting team here. |

The main positive out of this game is that Dame is officially back, missed the good old Dame! |

Politics...? |
What are the politics here? Why are we catering to this guy? He hasn’t done anything to earn crunch time minutes. He can’t be trusted in a close game. Why is he out there? What the (bleep) are we doing? |
No clue, man. Pelinka got his damn extension, so it's not like he's going to pay for admitting he fvcked up.
They need to rip the band-aid off. |
It’s one thing to keep starting him. I don’t agree with it, but whatever. Playing him in crunch time is a federal crime. Stop it now and stop it forever. |
Russ is too toxic. If he doesn’t start, he fakes injuries and complains. If he doesn’t finish, he fakes injuries and complains. He’s a disruptive presence and clearly makes the team dynamics uncomfortable by his unwillingness to work towards the betterment of the team.
Only options:
- Cater to Russ (as the Lakers have done).
- Send Russ home and replace his minutes with Reaves, Brown, JTA, etc. Defensive players who know their role on offense.
- Trade Russ (this option is best in January as more players become available both contractually and as teams decide to change direction and rebuild). |

All Russ had to do, if he won’t or can’t shoot the open 3 with Nurkic dropping in the paint, set a dang pick for Bron up top, switch the defenders, Jesus |

We've watched a team that had some 3 guys and 3/d guys gut itself to get...Russ...over time. What a waste.
If this is what we are going to be left with rest of this year, just do everyone a favor and gut the whole club, and rebuild. Get picks. Get young. Fine. But this is just depressing and overall beyond frustrating to experience as the FO has us stuck in "neutral" waiting for a miracle. |
