Japan is doing the opposite - looks like they're leaving Yamamoto in too long. He's getting hit

So are they playing with the normal bases or the big bases?

Dino Ebel working 3rd base for team Mexico?

That dude was out by a mile.

That could have been an even bigger inning.

Oh lol. I really thought he was because I thought I heard his name mentioned during one of the games last week. LOL

He is actually the third base coach for team USA. LOL

BTW earlier in the broadcast when Sandoval was pitching, the reporter was saying how Sandoval thought this game will be a good experience for him for when the Angels go in to the post season. LOL

Never paid attention to the WBC until this year and it's been fantastic.

Yeah, the atmosphere for the WBC has been electric. It's unfortunate that we're starting Merrill Kelly tomorrow instead of, you know, one of the many American pitchers who are actually aces, but the tournament has clearly grown in importance and prestige since it's inception in, what, 2006? Maybe next time we'll get more of our pitchers to buy in. It wasn't a problem for the hitters, as many of our stars are there.

Ohtani certainly made it sound like he wants to pitch in relief tomorrow, if necessary. Can you imagine if the game comes down to an AB where he faces Trout? Must-see TV!

Dude, Trout on with 2 out and a tying run on base facing Ohtani in the bottom of the 9th. That would blow the roof off.

Hahaha yeah. Hopefully they are all home runs so Ebel has no control over sending people home. LOL

Yeah hopefully we get some good pitchers in there.

Imagine if Judge was in this year's WBC. Mookie, Judge, Trout, and Goldschidt line up would be insane. Not that it already isn't.

Damn...watching Japan win was like waiting for the shoe to drop where you just had a feeling they would comeback. That team has the look of the team of destiny. Merrill Kelly is NOT a guy I would rely on to stem that tide. Frankly though neither is Scherzer or Verlander who are considered Aces. Those guys are not Aces who will stem the tide of a team looking like they are the favorites in pivotal playoff like game. I can only think of one dude and feel good about my chances: Jacob DeGrom. With DeGrom, I would even consider the US the favorites.

Japan's lineup is very lefty-heavy, so I'm thinking that Kyle Freeland is going to have to play a big role for us. I'd think that Kelly is going to be on a very short leash.

You just reminded me.....damn I would love to see what CK can do against this Japanese lineup. Certainly would trust our guy over Freeland. Japanese players though are renowned for being able to make contact so if CK is not on, he may keep getting hit sprayed left and right until he gets frustrated and makes a big mistake to either Ohtani, Yoshida or Murakami. An on CK though makes any lineup off balanced - especially against hitters not used to seeing him

Damn now Im really annoyed Kershaw was not allowed to pitch here. I would love to see how Kersh would have handled this moment. Its a new moment even for the veteran Kershaw facing a team representing your country in the finals.
