It was a bit of a matchup issue last series. This and Memphis are great Rui series

I mean this series.

Rui is just flat out out muscling Jokic out there.

And yet he still not starting in second half.

The dude looks as strong as an ox out there

Remember, trading him turned out to be a fireable offense.

Imagine being the Wizards right now. He's way more efficient than Kuzma.

Yeah, rumors kept saying Kuz, glad we got the better player

Rui is way more disciplined on offense, albeit the passiveness is frustrating at times. All of his flaws can be worked on, while Kuz is a gunslinger who doesn't hesitate to shoot before thinking. So yeah, Wiz f'd it up, and that's more or less the sentiment of Wiz fans. Their sub is filled with a lot of regret.

Bcuz Bron iced him and tried to play hero ball. Hopefully it doesn't happen in game 3.

I know everyone wants him to start.
But if we do that, we have no bench. And there's not alot of ball to go around with the starters.

He got 30 minutes off the bench tonight. I'm sure Ham will try to squeeze in even more minutes if possible.

He's been our biggest bright spot this series. Happy for him.

I think we can’t afford that line of thinking. In this series so far, Rui and Reaves have proven to be the only two role players with positive on court value. Reaves needs to be trending towards 40+ minutes and Rui should definitely be playing more than 30, which will only be possible if he starts. That’s assuming we want to win this series, because I don’t think we have a shot if we have to play Vando anything more than short stints. He’s borderline unplayable against playoff teams that don’t have a bigger perimeter lead scorer that we can stick him on.

It's a tough call. I wouldn't be mad if we start him.
I can see the arguments both ways.

Only thing I'm firm on is, we've been going with an 8 man rotation. I would not cut that down to 7. If Vando gets cut out of the rotation, someone else needs to get run (off the bench).

Yeah, man. The problem is there were a couple of players that could’ve been playoff rotation players, but they just didn’t pan out, with Bamba and Beasley. Beasley particularly would’ve been huge had he not lost his jump shot completely. I think we’re kind of in trouble no matter what we do with the rotation because we’re flat out short on two way players. The playoffs have a way of exposing that the deeper you go, and that’s where we’re at now.

I’ve been saying it since we got him but I absolutely think we can run the offense thru this guy either in the short corner post up or low block. Feel way more confident in rui getting a bucket in iso over both our stars tbh. Need to feature rui more in the offense and let him cook the mismatches. Take the bigs out in the perimeter or the smalls down to the block. He can put up an efficient 25+

Idc if he starts or not. He just needs to play 38+ minutes. They aren't serious about winning if Rui and Reaves don't play close to 40 minutes in the next two home games.

Rui has a motor. I love it. He's not afraid to attack. His jumper has been on.

With more time w/Handy, he should be a legit 18-20 ppg

You guys realize that if Rui doesn’t start, it’s impossible for him to play 38 minutes right?

Ham is not the kind of coach to ever play a bench player that many minutes unless it’s his boy like Dennis Schroder.
