If we keep one of our seconds then this becomes a much better deal

Getting excited now.

How did we get fleeced? Nunn sucks and 3 2nd rounds picks are mid-level value. I think the Lakers did great.

3 2nd rd picks are mid level value but Christie and Bryant were Lakers 2nd rd picks. Reaves was undrafted.

Good trade. If we want a second round pick we can always buy one during the draft.

7 seconds mean a better chance at finding a gem or 2 late in the draft. Not every 2nd rounder is a bust especially when they are early 2nd round picks.

Also you’re forgetting you have to extend Rui now to make this worthwhile. Are we 100% certain we want to do that?

We just got a guy that doesn’t move the needle. Overpay or not it’s a meaningless trade Rob just orchestrated for fun with his fav organization again.

Disagree with you. You want the perfect trade. This is a perfect trade. I am reading it is 2 second round picks, not 3. Plus Nunn, that is an amazing trade. How is it not? Hey, I don't know Rui's game but from what I am reading, we got the advantage of this trade....period...

Moving the needle is different. Russ moved the needle but not ideal. We are such a weird team. Maybe a guy with length can subtly help. IDK

You're just whining now. It was a low risk move for a guy who can play, plus it balances our roster better.

you know we actually bought that 2nd round pick for Christie?
2nd round picks are not that important especially when you have 7

The 2028 pick is a pick swap?

High seconds are pretty valuable for our franchise... but it sounds like we keep one and the other is in 2029

This means we still have a first round pick and a high second.

I'm fine with that.

Would have been less fine with both gone.

And I do have hopes for Rui but I don't get why he can't at least rebound like Kuzma.

Recall the Russ trade included that 2028 2nd, so essentially DC gets that pick back.

Also as long as we don’t include it in any other trade before the trade deadline (ie Russ trade in a follow up buyout for example), we will have 6.3m in cash to trade at the 2023 draft along with our own 2023 2nd.

no, we own the Wizards 2028 2nd round pick, so it is 3 2nd round picks, we just give them the worse of the 2nd round picks between us and them in 2028

I believe DC just gets their 2028 2nd rounder back, which was part of the Russ trade and then was later traded along with cash to Orlando which led to the MaxC pick during the 2022 draft.

Quote:
2028 second round draft pick to Orlando or L.A. Lakers
Orlando will receive the more favorable of the L.A. Lakers' 2028 2nd round pick and Washington's 2028 2nd round pick and the L.A. Lakers will receive the less favorable of the two (via L.A. Lakers) [Brooklyn-Indiana-L.A. Lakers-San Antonio-Washington, 8/6/2021; L.A. Lakers-Orlando, 6/23/2022]

Some Laker fans here expect Nunn, Jones for Bogs and Kuzma with no picks at all. LOL.

Perhaps. Since I’m in the minority I guess we will wait and see. Hopefully he’s better and more impactful than the Rui I have seen over the last couple of years. Guy is hurt a lot and I’ve never seen him impact the game. He’s a diet Kuzma IMO.

Do ask yourself though: if he’s as good as people think he is or will be why are the Wiz trading him away for Nunn + 2 second rounders?
