Rui has been very good for us the first three games. Lebron getting caught live on camera saying "Bring that MFer to me. I hit like ten shots in a row and he shoots a pull up 2? Swing swing MFer!" is still hilarious, though. Major credit to Rui for working hard on D too.

Rui next to the rim is like the Rams in the red zone without Kupp and Nacua.

How can such a large man miss easy dunk opportunities over and over?

He missed ten extra points by being unable to finish something that should be child's play for him.

I didn't watch the game so I didn't catch that. Hopefully that gets fixed. He comes off in my eyes as a bit soft around the rim. Remember when his teammates joked about his (lack of) a "dunk package"? I think that was only half-jokingly and at least partially a motivation tactic.

Rui is a good athlete especially for his size but not super explosive and it shows up when is trying to finish around the rim. Is frustrating but at least he is being more aggressive this year, he has the skill set to put up 15-20ppg.

JJ's coaching is benefiting Rui big time.

I remember in the offseason JJ said he wanted Rui to rebound more especially on the offensive end. There it is.

JJ is just utilizing all the great tools that was available to Ham better. We literally have the exact same team as last year and we're sitting atop the West.

Yes, I posted in the JJ thread. Same team but the difference is coaching. If Rob can get us a center like Kessler or Jonas we can compete for a title.

Let me put it this way. Bron is having similar problems with explosiveness but he is forty years old. Rui is still pretty young.

It's frustrating as hell because if he could finish those shots and win a few more loose balls, he'd become an all star quality player. It feels like he's playing in sand sometimes.

Blatantly false statements…or is it lack of knowledge?…has become a normal part of our society. I hate that shat. It’s neither literally nor exact. Why? Why say that man? You seem like a nice guy, and knowledgeable. Why be false? Do you not know the meaning of those words? Or is being truthful just not important? I wish that If we believe in what we’re saying we would just tell truth, why has that become something that’s so hard for us?

An over reaction by me? Perhaps, we all have our pet peeves. I don’t even fully understand why it bothers me so much. I’m not trying to offend and realize it comes across that way. Please forgive. It probably won’t change a thing constructively but I do the best I can, taking the risk to point it out just in case it does help in some way.

To the point that you’re communicating, I agree wholeheartedly with the concept, JJ is using the tools…almost all are the same…so much better. Time outs, starting lineups, substitutions, preparations, adjustments, it’s good to see that!!!

We have more or less the same roster from last season.
The difference is having a coach that understands how to utilize their roster, make adjustments, and playing the right lineups.

Rui should be in the running for MIP. He's stroking it from downtown, rebounding better, and playing with more effort defensively.

He needs to keep it going though.

It's very early. It's not where we are now. It's where we finish. Stay humble.

Plus didn't Rui train with LeBron all summer?
