He could have also just been turning back to go down the court as the team scored.
But the controversy sounds better I guess.

| According to 538, the NBA actually assigns the officials for the first 4 games before the series begins. So any of the “they brought Foster in for game 4 to extend the series” is incorrect. |

Looks like he was turning to run back and it cuts away too soon. People running wild with it when I think of Davis as actually being one of the better officials. I don't really know though.
Brothers is one of the worst officials though, and he's doing our game. Hooray. Good luck y'all |

That referee in the Butler video is not him tho, I think he wasn't even in that game. He was reffing the 76ers game

Yeah I think this was conveniently cropped to make it look like something it wasn’t. Same thing they did with that LeBron / Wiggins play. |

The NBA started doing that a while ago to try to counter the conspiracy theories that they were assigning refs on a game to game basis to favor whichever team needed a win in order extend the series and make the maximum revenue from it. It didn't really help. A conspiracy theorist is always going to find conspiracies. |

I would also be surprised if they aren’t using a random generator to assign the refs. Maybe with some modifications if a referee requests a day off for a family funeral etc. |
