Vando's hustle and rebounding AND he's still working himself back into basketball shape.

21 minutes for 14 boards… that’s Rodman-like, man

Don’t see why he can’t be as good as Aaron Gordon

I will give the man his due. Last year, it felt like it took a month for him to get back in game shape. He's been ready to go. But i also think his current role (20~ mgp, off the bench) is the correct role for him.

Shooting (Gordon is below average, but Vando is worse) and Vando just isn't the lob finisher Gordon is. I'm not sure anyone is.

Front courts are going to absolutely HATE fighting for boards all game long with Williams and Vando especially..

I just keep hearing "lets wait until we see the defense first" but we have the pieces now and when healthy good luck to any team out rebounding and/or out scoring us.

Vando looked like prime Rodman on the boards tonight.

I love you Vanderbilt, so glad the FO didn’t trade you, he has that championship mentality you want from a role player

He is too good, so damn valuable. It's ashamed he's been injured for a such a long time.

He can't really catch a pass, for starters. Or dribble. Maybe in the next few years

Seconded. The one-handed-in-traffic rebound was marvelous.

Team would be in much worse shape defensively with no Vando after AD trade.

Ya'll were trying to play me when I kept saying his value goes way past raw stats.

BEHOLD!

To have a positive effect on the game doing something other than scoring. Who would of thought?

Vando as a back up five flanked with size is the way to go.

I'd still love for us to eventually get a spacing 5 to pair with Vando. Doesn't have to be the most physical 5, but a good defender/ shot blocker with size who can shoot.

Keep him healthy: let him play 16-17 minutes a game. Best of both worlds. His impact seems to lessen the more he plays but when he plays spot minutes, those minutes are a big win for the Lakers.

Vando is just a force.. without requiring any usage.. sounds like a perfect guy to put on the court with Luka and Lebron.

I love the idea of a massive lineup with Vando and Luka in the back court.. and Lebron, DFS and Williams up front.

Vando and DFS being demons on D.. Lebron being able to put more energy on D with Luka on the court doing more handling... I think it's just a monster group.

Vando can stick a bunch of guards.. I only feel like the elite quicks might require putting Gabe in instead.

^ I wonder how much bad spacing is an issue with Vando/Williams if you're getting elite offensive rebounding too

Luka/ Vando/ DFS/ LeBron/ Williams intrigues me
This is where someone says Vando isn't a true PoA defender because his screen nav is the worst part of his defensive game but that's switchable 1-4 at least, if not 1-5

My goodness! That lineup is...well, you've taken the word intrigued off the table Tox, so I'll go with salivating!

Hard for me to pinpoint reason for Lakers recent success and I think it began before the trade.

But the eye test tells me Vando had a lot to do with it. The Pacers early in 3rd got I think within 6 and Vando came in and the Lakers went on a run.
