He was on track to become an average shooter but the foot surgeries really set him back. He's making $11M, and we don't depend on his jumper, if he's making it, it's all gravy. The demands of him is defense, deflections, steals, energy, rebounding, and being an overall disruptive presence.

when the lakers ended up getting 5 possessions in 1 mainly because of Vando''s hustle is what won us the game tonight

lot of criticism of what he can't do on the offensive end to the point of us sometimes playing 4 v 5 out on that end when he on the floor, but the stuff he does do as far as hustle and on defense is so valuable to us

Lebron and Luka on the floor together make so many players better.

Vando just needs to move the ball quickly, play great defense, and grab as many rebounds as possible.

I love guys like Vando. They never get the credit they deserve, but they sure help get wins and set a tone of 100% effort.

Loved seeing him attack the basket. The guy is 6'9 and athletic as hell, no reason he should be afraid of going up strong. He can be even more of a difference maker if he continues to play with confidence offensively.

Not so sure teams can just leave him wide open in the corners anymore. I think he can hit them at a reasonable enough clip. Luka Is def showing him a lot of trust because he keeps hitting him when he’s wide open.

He's everywhere tonight. Really liked his game today, and liked him (and Luka/Trey) sticking up for DK4 tonight against Bruce Brown.

Vanderbilt has been great. I also like that fact that he's finished multiple lobs recently. Luka seems to know how to utilize him in that regard. We've seen a bit less of him looking scared under the rim in recent games, because he has been put in that position less often.

sucks that he was hurt last season cause even in the small amount of games he played he showcased his improved 3 ball then too

the last stretch of games before he went out last year he was basically doing the same thing he's doing now.

vando is must watch tv on the defensive end. I think we are lucky af that we have Luka must watch tv on offense and then vando must watch tv on defense

I'll never take Vando for granted again.

Dude played like what? 15 minutes? 20 minutes? It felt like he played 40 minutes in a Game 7 of the Finals.

Literally every single minute Vando is in the game, he makes an impact. Even that game where he only played 6 minutes due to foul trouble, those 6 minutes were HUGE.

I take anything bad I said about him in the past. He SHOULD be a Laker for life. This guy plays with heart, soul and hustle every game, and he loves it.
