Nice activity tonight. All I want to see. The one corner three he had looked the same as before (not good), but that isn’t really his game. Just being active and getting his hand in the ball and disrupting with his physicality is what he brings to the table, and it looked good today.
Agreed, I feel Vuc would perfectly fit well with him or AD.
Yeah I said this in another thread but onto of complementing Vando perfectly he also fills a huge need. He'd start, but our bench scoring and assists were 29th in the league coming into the game. You add his 3 4apg and multi-level scoring to the rotation and one of LBJ or AD or Vuc will always be out there. He also cost less than Kessler. I really wouldn't deal a first without heavy protection.
I think its also always in the back of a Pelinkas and the Lakers minds that if they deal a first now.. then it pretty much takes them out of anyone who might become available this offseason. And it’s possible that there could be some very big names that becomes available.
It’s hard to balance that with winning now.. especially when you have a roster with two great players. It’s a tough decision. I think ideally they would like to trade for a difference maker without trading a 1st. Vucevic might be that guy.

The activity was great, he did a lot of small things that do not show up on the stat sheet. Really glad to have him back and hopefully he can stay healthy this time around. If he could somehow fix his shot to at least be a bit of an outside threat.

Plugging Vucevic into a lineup with defensive studs is like walking around with four intact pockets while all your money is spilling out of the fifth one with a hole in it.
Team defensive integrity is a thing. Offenses in the playoffs will exploit your biggest weakness over and over and over again, which means Vucevic is the opposite of the type of center we need alongside AD. We had 2020 Dwight Howard slowing down Jokic back in the day; it's that type of strong, defensive-minded presence we need as a back up center in 2025.

Nice video, thanks for posting it. Random shout out to Connect 4's defense on Curry at the 1m mark that deftly runs the sharpshooter off the 3P line and directls him towards Vandy's help in the paint for the whiff.

That's true, I think DK is not really a bad defender but just slightly below average, he had some good moments on defensive end. If he will play together with defensive players, his defensive weakness will be covered.
Felt like when the Hornets get within 6 in the 4th and the Lakers had lackluster energy, Vando was inserted and help put the lead back to double digits.
He also has some dog in him and doesn't back down. He kept on hand checking Bridges while Bridges was pushing his hand away. Vandy did not stop. I know they are friends, but Vandy is going to do what he wants to do. The second Vandy went to the bench late in the 4th, Bridges drained a couple of 3's.
He's causing problems on offense for both teams imo. He needs his timing back. I didn't like the cut down the middle the Lakers kept running with Bron passing out of the post. I don't trust Vando to finish against traffic or draw a foul. He needs to be squarely in the dunkers spot or spaced to corner and crashing.
And a blown layup against a very light contest. Only thing missing was an ugly corner three attempt. Vando is back baby! Missed his elite activity and D.

We had Dwight sure but we also had Markieff who played more in every round than Dwight and Javale. Vucevic is an upgrade from Markieff and for his career he averages 20 and 10 on Jokic. That’s something that doesn’t hurt you either because it means Bron and AD numbers pretty much wipe out Murray, Porter, and Gordon now totally if you have him giving Joker work on both ends. And Vucevic gives him work as the last two years he’s 23 and 12 vs Joker. And we know Reaves gets his averages on Denver.
Vucevic isn’t Dwight by any means but he’s pretty much putting Javale and Markieff together next to AD
