Agreed, I feel Vuc would perfectly fit well with him or AD. |
Plugging Vucevic into a lineup with defensive studs is like walking around with four intact pockets while all your money is spilling out of the fifth one with a hole in it.
Team defensive integrity is a thing. Offenses in the playoffs will exploit your biggest weakness over and over and over again, which means Vucevic is the opposite of the type of center we need alongside AD. We had 2020 Dwight Howard slowing down Jokic back in the day; it's that type of strong, defensive-minded presence we need as a back up center in 2025.

Nice video, thanks for posting it. Random shout out to Connect 4's defense on Curry at the 1m mark that deftly runs the sharpshooter off the 3P line and directls him towards Vandy's help in the paint for the whiff. |
We had Dwight sure but we also had Markieff who played more in every round than Dwight and Javale. Vucevic is an upgrade from Markieff and for his career he averages 20 and 10 on Jokic. That’s something that doesn’t hurt you either because it means Bron and AD numbers pretty much wipe out Murray, Porter, and Gordon now totally if you have him giving Joker work on both ends. And Vucevic gives him work as the last two years he’s 23 and 12 vs Joker. And we know Reaves gets his averages on Denver.
Vucevic isn’t Dwight by any means but he’s pretty much putting Javale and Markieff together next to AD |
He isn't close to putting them together, both were far superior defenders and they were not even that good on defense. Why does everyone not understand theres two sides of the ball, in the playoffs the defense matters more. |

^^^ Not wrong but from a defensive standpoint you could argue that Vuc is not necessarily a downgrade from Rui. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

Averaging 3 steals per game since he got back... |
9 steals in 41 minutes is comical |
Obviously this will go down but his steal% on bbref is 10.5% lol |

Javale wasn’t playable at all vs Houston or Miami or Denver. He was benched vs Portland too. Dwight also wasn’t played a lot vs Miami. Markieff was the only big used all 4 rounds. And Markieff isn’t that much a world beater from Vucevic. Vucevic can still stretch it, board, and score. My point is he’s not Dwight who is mister muscle and perfect defense but he’s not Javale who will be benched most the playoffs, and he’s not far off from markieff defensively. Offensively he’s better than all three.
Making Joker work his ass off matters most as I’m of the belief you can beat anyone if you get past him. And right now if you tell me Vuc gives Joker what he’s gave him the last 2 years, 23 and 12 or for their career vs one another 19 and 10, or even a reduced 15 and 8 while AD gets his normal 28 and 12 and Bron gets his 25, 8, and 7 cs them … we can beat Denver across the frontline and Reaves will get his average. Vucevic takes out Denver and after that air his ass because you take out the rest the west |

Not a good game by Vando. Hes a good disrupter, but if he cant make 3s, I see JJ limiting his minutes |

Start Vando at the 5?
I’d rather watch him than Hayes tbh
Vando/hayes
Lebron/Rui
DFS/reddish
Reaves/dalton

If Luka playing Point Forward and Bron playing power forward, Vando gotta be the ones chasing speedy guards, DFS chasing speedy wings _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

i think the knicks gameplan is a good one to follow for the rest of the year - no dominant center but a lot of 6'7"-6'10" guys running around switching and crashing the boards will be a possible recipe for defensive success...
just concerning that gabe instead of max is the POA defender now...hope cam can rise to the opportunity and take replicate some of what max gave the team... |

Lakers overall defensive rating: 113.9 (20th)
Lakers defensive rating with Vando (6 games): 108.3 (3rd)
Same thing he did when he first got here so not really surprising. Lakers also have the 3rd best offensive rating since he's been back. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

love seeing Vando back out there..
this guy has one role and thats to be a pest and disruptor on defense and he also rebounds well cause of his size.
dont care much about his offense cause we have others who can be a threat on that end... but man watching him and DFS roam around and create havoc is beautiful. |

Defense wins championships
Mavs had the right idea but their window is significantly shorter with AD than it would have been with Luka. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.

a healthy Vandy and DFS around Luka are the most important pieces. It's nice to see dfs and Luka have an existing relationship. Vandy IMHO will never be a guy teams have to sweat offensively but his activity on D is a perfect compliment to Luka. _________________ https://www.instagram.com/reel/DDfvXWXvpeb/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== |
