He's another article on the subject. What caught my attention was the size of the object. What could something that small carry that would make it a danger or a spying instrument?
US shoots down another ‘high-altitude object’ over Alaska
The U.S. does not yet know where the latest object originated from and was hesitant to refer to it as another balloon as it was “about the size of a small car,” nowhere near the size of the high-altitude surveillance balloon taken down off the coast of South Carolina

Cameras and electronic surveillance equipment. They aren't very big. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

U.S. FAA reopens Montana airspace shut for defense activities
WASHINGTON, Feb 11 (Reuters) - The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said late Saturday it had reopened some airspace in Montana after it was briefly closed for undisclosed Defense Department activities.
The FAA had issued a notice temporarily barring flights in an area about 50 by 50 nautical miles around Havre, Montana, near the Canadian border and classifying the area as "national defense airspace."

These objects/spy ballons/intelligence gathering instruments, whatever are being shot down almost weekly. They seem to be more provoking than dangerous.
What We Know as U.S. Shoots Down Third Object Over North America BY KHALEDA RAHMAN ON 2/12/23 AT 7:13 AM EST
Both Canadian and U.S. aircraft were scrambled, Trudeau said, and it was a U.S. jet that "successfully fired at the object." Canadian Forces "will now recover and analyze the wreckage of the object," Trudeau said.

Someone on Reddit shot video of what looks to be the object over Lake Michigan before the fighter jets were scrambled. It looked like a very small, possibly rotating cylindrical ballon-type object.
Seems to me like China has likely been using these small objects for some time to test our defenses, hence the rapid rise in reports over the last two years, and when they sent over the huge balloon with the array this week we finally had enough.

Don't they already have satellite spying capabilities? Do they really have to resort to sending up a souped-up kite with a camera? _________________ You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago. I don't claim to know the purpose or payload of the craft. I'm just answering the logistical question bolded above of what would fit on a small craft that could gather intelligence.
But to answer your question. You don't typically resort to just one means of gathering imagery. We have high resolution satellite imagery, but that doesn't mean we don't also employee other means of gathering such imagery, such as airplanes and drones. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Actually, it might be perfect timing. This might be the one time in history that the world is so divide and unhinged with its head too far up its ass to unite and fight back. I think The Grays know exactly what they are doing. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Is this the 4th occurrence of late? If so I think these objects are more than a coincidence. Or have they been happening and not reported?

The first missile launched by an F-16 fighter jet at the object near Lake Huron, Michigan, on Sunday did not hit the target, three people briefed on the matter told CNN.
The Pentagon and White House had not previously disclosed that the first missile did not strike the target. But NORTHCOM and NORAD Commander Gen. Glen VanHerck told reporters on Sunday that acquiring and targeting the object was difficult because of its small size.

Was watching some yearly recap videos on YT of late and there was a tidbit in one from the early 70s about a US balloon spying program that sounded similar to what China has recently been up to, think it was 1972, but might be a little off. They coincidentally included that because said vid was uploaded before this China thing. So that means the Chinese are using tactics the US last thought of using in the 70s.

President Biden speaking on the objects shot down by our military. He said they may be ballons owned by private industry used for weather and other things. I'm not buying that. If they belong to private industry and pose no threat why don't these entities come forth and take ownership for the flying objects? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
