My new estimate next 8 games now that warriors has beaten the Sixers:

7+ wins, big chance of 6th place
5 wins, 7th or 8th spot
3 wins, 9th or 10th spot
2 wins and below, they might be out of the play-in

looks like 6th spot is almost impossible. But I will take the 7th or 8th spot.

Toughest games on left are at Minny and home against Phx. Minny is a bad matchup for us especially with KAT back.

I think Suns will not play kd that time if they already secure a playoff spot. Also it is a 2nd day of a back2back.

Have you guys been paying attention to the Suns? They might just fall out of the playoffs and play-in! Look at their schedule. It looks brutal!

Lakers need to be at least 7-2 in their next 9 games if they want to have a chance at 6th spot. I think the Warriors will be 5-3 in their last 8.

Warriors last 8 games :
vs Sixers L
vs Wolves W
vs Pelicans W
vs Spurs W
@ Nuggets L
vs Thunder W
@ Kings L
@ Blazers W

I don't know about the Sixers beating the Warriors at Chase, they're kinda unstoppable there.

I guess I was right.

Warriors are not going to slip up! GP2 is just a few games away and he will fix a lot of their defense issues and solidify their rotations. It’s the suns that are looking shaky and slipping. Looking at their schedule they are in major danger!

kd will return, they will be at least 5-4 in their next 9 games

vs Sixers no kd L
@ Jazz W
vs Wolves with kd W
vs Nuggets with kd 50/50
@ Thunder W
vs Spurs W
vs Nuggets with kd 50/50
@ Lakers if kd dont play b2b L
vs Clippers W

they will have at least 5 wins, and they might split the Nuggets games. Dont see them slipping in the play-in with 43 wins

5 away games are tough and the Clippers game is on a back to back without AD

All the tiebreakers are now settled. Suns, Clippers, Wolves, Mavs have tiebreakers over Lakers. Lakers have tiebreaker over Thunder, Pelicans, Warriors. At all star break Lakers did not have any tiebreaker over anyone including Blazers…quite a turnaround

Ideally you'd want to go 8-0
But let's see... let's assume that LeBron will be back for the last 3 or 5 games (I doubt he plays the back to back if he has returned by then).

So it would behoove the Lakers to go 3-0 across their next three. 2-1 is understandable but NOT go 1-2 or 0-3.

Let's say if LeBron returns against Houston and then sits out vs Utah and plays vs the Clippers and PHX and then sits out against Utah again.

Then the Lakers going 3-0 to start the trip would be vital.

3/26 (Sun) - Chicago
3/29 (Wed) - @Chicago
3/31 (Fri) - @Minnesota
4/2 (Sun) - @Houston
4/4 (Tue) - @Utah (Night 1 B2B)
4/5 (Wed) - @Clippers (Night 2 B2B)
4/7 (Fri) - Phoenix
4/9 (Sun) - Utah

Could finish the season 6-2 in that scenario which would put our season record at 43-39 which given the other schedules could put us at the 7th seed or the 6th seed, depending.

Even if we only beat Minnesota, Houston, Utah twice and PHX. We finish the season 5-3 but we take out all the teams that would have been above us in the play-in and likely stay the 7th seed.

But if we beat Minnesota, Houston, Utah twice, PHX and the Clippers? We have a chance to be the 6th seed. All depends on how other games turn out but we have to do our part and beat the teams around us.

We are playing .666 ball since the trade.

6-2 is doable, 5-3 is probable

17-6

44-38 Season Record

**********************************

Assuming Ham will continue his good rotation like in the 2nd half of the pelicans game I think this can be done. Also assuming Bron and AD will be healthy.

10-5 in this schedule

12-6 with the New guys

3-0 with the New guys and with Bron

4 wins out of 8 games to finish the season @ 0.500

10-6 in this schedule

12-7 with the New guys

3-1 with the New guys and with Bron

4 wins out of 8 games to finish the season @ 0.500

I predicted a split with Bulls, they lost today, next game a must win.

We will be lucky to win 3 of our remaining games now can everyone stop with these boneheaded moronic 70% win predictions.

I think they will finish with a 41-41 record. Next 2 games are the toughest...assuming Suns rest key players for B2B

There's a decent chance that Utah pulls out soon too, and we have 2 games against them coming up.

They should go 5-2 especially with Lebron and hopefully DLO back.

But this Lakers team doesn’t do “should” so I’ll say 4-3

Losses to one of Chicago/Minnesota and Clippers, Suns. Clippers because we never beat them and can’t give a W until I see one. Suns are probably going to need that game for seeding purposes.

If they win the next 2, then 5-2 may happen. But until they show that they are serious against the Bulls and show ability to beat Minnesota, I’m not going to give them those as 2 of the remaining wins.

Bulls and Wolves are playing very well and trying hard to make the playoffs. Wolves got back Edwards and Towns. Lakers schedule eases up after the two games.

If Mavericks lose today's game...think their season will be done.
Expecting Clippers, Warriors & Wolves to be 5-7 seeds. Lakers will be in 8-10 range. Lakers tie-breakers against Pelicans and Thunder will be crucial for play-in seeding.

Yeah, but they won’t lose tonight because Indiana is a pulling a Portland and sitting everyone out.
