Ja could be getting a 50 game suspension or longer because the NBA could and likely will make an example out of him. Two major things
1) He had his gun at an away city. Which means he brought it onto NBA property(be it the plane or bus or otherwise) with it. Which is prohibited with extreme prejudice in the NBA. He could get a 50+ game suspension based off that alone.
2) He broadcasted it all over IG Live. Which could cost him even more because of his conduct determental to the team.
Something else that may happen now? He could also be facing jail time
1) He had a gun in a location where alcohol was served and he may have been drinking. Which is illegal in Colorado and have penalties that extend to jail time.
So yeah.. Ja messed up big time. All to prove that this suburban private school attending kid whom was raised with money and outside of poverty was 'hood' to impress his 'friends'.
His conduct is not something the NBA wants to push and if they want to use Ja to send a message to any other would be people trying to act "gangster" on the NBA's dollar... they will.

Okay that makes sense. Crittenton and Gilbert Arenas were suspended for the remainder of the season with their gun incident and the season had 50 games left. That’s probably where he got it. |

You compare Shaq's late father and Ja's dumbass father and you can see the difference. Ja has to separate himself from all his thug 'friends' and his clown father to have a chance at being a decent human being. |

Seems reasonable to me.
Let’s stop downplaying the situation as an isolated “ mistake”. The man was filming himself carelessly playing around with a gun in a club. Not simply carrying.
Also has been involved in a couple of concerning incidents with reportedly flashing a gun at the fight “with a teenager” at his home and the potential laser targeting incident with Indiana. Multiple incidents of poor judgement and breaking gun safety laws. Do we really need to wait until it escalates? Where is the cry for the Red Flag laws and taking his guns away?
For all the media cries for needed gun control reform, why not start with actually prosecuting the laws on the books. Start with the irresponsible, reckless and downright criminal. Leave responsible law abiding gun owners alone! |

BREAKING: Grizzlies Announce Major Update on Ja Morant Gun Suspension

The Memphis Grizzlies had previously kept Ja Morant away from the team for two games, both of which came in Los Angeles against the Clippers and Lakers. Upon their return back home, the Grizzlies made a major announcement that revealed Morant will miss at least four more games.
The team was brief in their statement, as it only mentioned the updated timeline for Morant. It was always likely that he would miss more than the initial two games that were announced, and it will now be interesting to see if his suspension extends beyond these next four games as well.

Morant has not been suspended. This is a technical point, but it has some ramifications that may come into play down the road. In the short term, the significance is that Morant is still getting paid.

I agree. Its funny he was raised pretty sheltered which is probably partly the reason to "act up."
I think he probably learned. this was a helluva wake up call that resulted from something that in comparison to others was pretty harmless. he should be grateful.
