Need another big body and length, we getting cooked on rebounds and layup penetration especially when AD sits. I like Gabriel but he’s not a center. Lakers gonna get problems with long front courts like tonight, like Clippers, and will be eaten by teams like Denver, Suns, Bucks, Philly.

Hard to justify another big after Bamba comes back though, unless you mean just on a 10 day

We do have Mo Bamba but he's on ice right now.

Team is not small, they just miss their 7’1 center and 6’8 power forward/small forward

With Bamba out they really need to sign a big center. It was painfully obvious with the second unit tonight.

I love Wenyen's hustle but he's 6'9" and 205 lbs. That won't cut it against teams with size.

If we keep getting pushed around out there, the next real game Bamba plays might be opening night.

It is NEVER BIG enough.
even if you have a roster with people all 6.7 +.
and you got like 3 small guards.
HAM the Meathead will run that 3 guards.
heck even if you dont have those 3 guards in the roster.
He would probably get one of his assistant coach to suit up and go in.
SINCE his crap analytic says we need short people on the basketball court to win games.

It has been clear as day to people now that Vanderbilt is elite is defending the perimeter, but he is not good at guarding interior player due to his lanky frame.

but Ham never got the memo.
I dont think the dude even watch basketball tapes.

MORE GUARDS please!

For 10-day, I might take a flyer. He can still block/contest shots?

Bamba is not the answer, he is basically a finesse big, we desperately need more physical players who do not shy from contact.

Wish we could have kept them both for this season’s run. Could bring both back but could see which is a keeper and at least have reinforcements for this year. Would have cost 4 2nds tho so perhaps not worth it.

He signed it the 4th so I guess Tuesday is the last day. 2 consecutive DNP-CDs and he's played 34 minutes total in the 9 games he's been with them. I hope he notes the potential for more PT here. He's certainly flawed but better than the other options out there. He can stretch the floor and you figure he'll be fighting tooth and nail to save his NBA career.

Is Leonard even serviceable? We definitely need another big man. 2020 had me thinking it was easy to find these serviceable big men for cheap. I don't blame them for the trade but it sure would be nice to have Thomas Bryant back

We choose to play small as well. It's part of our coaching tactics. When we had TBryant, AD and Lebron, we still never ran them together. It took a losing streak for us to realize that Vandy needed to play more. When we had Bamba available, never got him a look next to AD.

It seems we feel we're better when we can outrun teams and keep pace high on offense. Even after the WB trade, we have mantained a high pace. The irony is that we seemingly have improved much more on defensive end since the trade, than offense.

As much as the trade gets credit for oh look how much better and deeper we are. It seems the numbers indicate that we're as bad offensively, playing just as small, but we've massively (and I mean by a lot) improved defensively subbing out WB with some guys like Vandy/Dennis getting minutes now. We've also played the easiest/most favourable schedule. To me this has made us overrate how good this team actually is doing. Don't get me wrong, we're way better than pre-WB trade. It's not even close.

But some things still stick out to me. Our transition defense. Lack of size. And our offense is still not what it should be. However, on the flip, we're much more athletic, active, and capable to get stops. We're also way better off the bench with much more scoring weapons/abilty. Overall. this is a really solid team and I would be shocked if we missed the play ins. We need just 7 or 8 more wins and we're in.

Did you have your eyes closed while he was playing?

Just because he shoots three point shots that doesn’t make him a finesse big he was legitimately banging in blocking shots while he was playing

He has one blocked shot as a Laker. He is a decent rebounder, though.

Blocking shots didn't make Javale a bruiser. He was very much a finesse big - as was on display every time he matched up with a true seven footer.

idgaf if he's a finesse big or not.. Like you said, he was clearly altering shots and making his presence known while he was on the floor defensively ala Javale for us when he was here. That's all we need especially once Bron comes back as well.

I'm absolutely in agreement with signing a big to a 10 day contract or two to help alleviate the pressure until those two come back though for sure.

He’s making a million bucks in Taiwan, I doubt that a 10-day min contract would impress him.
