Ever since LeBron came to the Lakers, people have been talking about sitting him out of 5-10 games a year for "load management." I've always hated that idea, and I give LeBron credit for not liking it either.

Moving forward, since he's 38 and maybe injury-prone now, we definitely do need to keep him at around 32 minutes a game while reducing his workload while he's on the court. Seems like we have the personnel to finally do that.

Instead of sitting him out of games he's healthy enough to play in, why not have a minutes restriction on him in such games? We could do it only between around Christmas and March, and only against bad teams at home. Limit LeBron to 20 minutes, and have him play almost his usual number of minutes in the first half, then another five minutes or so in the third quarter, almost like a preseason game.

That should be more than enough to beat crap teams as long as we run it back next season while keeping LeBron James fresh and, at least in theory, reducing his risk of injury.

Play him under 30 mpg in the regular season.
Great idea.

Next season, they should try their best to win 41 games as soon as soon as possible. then rest bron all the way.

Bron has a tendency to be injured around feb to march. might as well rest him that time till playoffs. But they need to secure their spot in the playoffs first. No need to worry about HCA, as long as lebron and ad are healthy they will win.

Also not sure to what extent he was exerting himself for the scoring record. With it now in the bag maybe he can lighten his load by being more of a facilitator or feasting on opportunities created by others. I'm not sure there's much defenders can do when Lebron is cutting to the basket. Now that we have creators who can also space, that tends to upon up a lot lanes.

should be at least 41-19 on 60 games, then just rest bron and ad in their last 22 games and get ready and healthy for the playoffs.

If we retain the roster next year, I think we strategically load manage with our better roster.

Starting Games

AD (62 games) / Bamba (20 games)
LBJ (62 games) / Rui (20 games)
Vandy / some 3&D wing or Christie
Reaves / Beasley or Lonnie or Christie
D'Lo / Schroder

some 3&D wing could be:

TBJ
Christie
Trade for Beasley + 1st rounder
Trade for Lonnie + 1st rounder

If we did that, we would have no momentum going into the playoffs, and we would have to rebuild chemistry and cohesion when the playoffs started. We could also drop by a few seeds and not have HCA.

Just play them fewer minutes and reduce their workload during the regular season instead of having them sit out games they're healthy enough to play in.

nah too risky for them to get a freak accident again. 🀣🀣🀣

you have 60 games already. chemistry is already built. yiu will not win 41 games without chemistry.

Load management is a lot more complex than just counting up the number of minutes players logs in games. It includes a gadzillion variables --
time in practices, individual skill sessions, cardio work, dynamic warm-up routines, postgame recovery regimens, cross-country flights, sleep, and on and on.
