I see this as a must-win. This team should be encouraged by winning the last two quarters but Denver will also change up stuff that they find. LeBron needs to stop jacking 3’s and the offensive boards need more effort from everyone. It is difficult to see the Nuggets making all those circus shots again in game 2, and I don’t think they’ll be able to repeat the kind of shooting display they put on in game 1 where everyone and their grandma was making shots. All that said I think we take game 2.

Lebron is super old now.

there is no encouragement from a loss, unless we are up in the series.

I rather we got blown out, and our starter played only 30 mins.

but instead we played them 40+

with one day rest, it is gonna suck

I didn't watch the end, but did anyone catch the replay of AD's last foul on Jokic? Was it even called on AD? Because that looked dubious from the broadcast angle

Ham made adjustments to get the game close. Putting Rui on Jokic and allowing AD to roam was a smart in-game adjustment. Malone will likely make adjustments for that. Game 2 is going to be an interesting chess match. If we can win it and take homecourt advantage it would be a blessing.

GO LAKERS!!!

Mo Bamba told me today that his follow-up appointment in LA went well and that the swelling in his ankle following the PRP injection is all the way down. He seemed optimistic.

Your sense of encouragement or not is irrelevant. You don't sit players in the Western Conference Finals. You play until the final buzzer sounds.

with a 28 years old Lebron, you do.

with a 38 years old Lebron, you need to preserve him for a 7 games series.

The dude looks gassed in every game 4.

-Play with more urgency no matter the lineup.
-I’d play Jokic straight up, let him get 50 but check the other guys.
-Put Jokic in more PnR and make him work, grind him down
-Don’t get flustered and stay the path

3rd option seems to be the most likely outcome, and perhaps 4th reality is LeBron and AD needs to be super in this series for us to have a chance, we can’t afford Russell to ghost games because this ain’t MEM or GS, we need Bamba to give us good minutes, we need Beasley to give us something, Lonnie isn’t gonna be a hero every time.. all in all Game 2 will me rather this is gonna be a short series or a lengthy 1

If you look at this video, a lot of plays especially the first half were a lack of effort..people not sprinting back..and stuff like that

Lakers show up with more effort and that is half the battle

Why is Malone so bothered by this? No one is thinking that this some magic trick lol. 1 of several different looks.

Mo Bamba has rejoined the team in Denver but is listed as out for Game 2 with his left ankle injury.

So had some time to digest things.

1. Goes without saying much more, team cannot win if Denver is scoring like that.

2. Am concerned LBJ energy may be lower in game 2. Hope I am wrong.

3. I dont think Rui is going to be an answer for Jokic for any length of time. I mean, he's there really to allow an AD to come over to double and of course hedge back if AD wants. The lack of a reliable "true" C like we had with Dwight and/or Javale does weigh on my mind, and I am hoping a prediction I made about that more than once (before playoffs began) is just flat wrong.

4. I would be really intrigued if the Lakers had the cajones to go "big" (for them) with what they use in their rotation. As in Vando on Murray, Reaves on KCP, Rui on Jokic and/or Gordon, AD on Gordon and/or Jokic, and LBJ on Porter. That lineup - just playing it in my own head of course - could actually cause the Nugs some issues. Vando has the ability to interrupt passes and length could bother Murray, and AD can roam, and you have more answers to potential switches Jokic may try to initiate. You would also have a bigger lineup for rebounds.

5. I wonder if this series is just not good for d'lo.

6. That the Nugs shot a high % from 3 isnt uncommon for them, the trio of KCP, Murray and Porter average, collectively, hitting about 7-8 3's a game on 17-18 attempts.

I do think hustle and energy will need to be there. I'd like to see different coverages used, both collectively, and then on Jokic. Mix things up.

On offense, just go at Murray and Jokic. Again and again, as much as reasonably possible.

No expectations though. Denver is a really good team. Their size and skill is no joke.

I think because its about that time the Lakers made a run. I think he's trying to suggest that wasnt the reason; or if it played as a reason, they can counter that.

I think Denver is feeling really good for this series. In the bubble, the Lakers were the bigger team and won. Nugs are now bigger.

Denver - 119

Don't see how anyone on our team can stop Murray/Jokic

Same as Bane hitting a buzz beater to beat us in game 6? How did that work out?

Denver couldn’t stop us all 4 quarters but we played better D the second half

What kind of people picks against the Lakers every time in a Lakers fan forum?
