Thank you and your family as well DB! What an enjoyable season that was even more enjoyable with your coverage and you keeping the LG community available for all of us Laker nuts to enjoy all these years. |

The playoffs help the front office to get a real clear picture of what we have. We went all the way to the WCFinals after not even being sure if we would make the playoffs. What do we have?
1. LeBron- he can still ball at a high level. The worse he can be next year is a great power forward. Not the fleet-footed youngster he was.
2. Davis- a high level performer...when he wants to perform. The bottom line with him is that he and LeBron are still lethal when they're on their game.
3. Reaves- a keeper. His efficiency really stands out. It indicates that we have a core level performer who can still improve a lot; which he will from this year's experience
4. Rui- a keeper also. Lots of room for growth. This year's experience will help him do exactly that, grow. Gives us a real dynamic look when he's out there with LeBron and AD.
5. Vanderbilt- a keeper because he's young, on a cheap contract, and plays defense. We're going to need his skill set & length
6. Schroder- love what he brings with his intensity, defens & speed. Hope we can retain him
7. Russell- exposed during the playoffs. Still a great fit with the alphas. Hope we can keep him while also identifying a defensive-minded backup to balance his lack of defense at times
8. Bamba- I really would like to see if we can utilize this guy in some capacity. I've always craved length next to AD & LeBron to give us some serious defensive ability
9. Christie- Looking forward to this young man's development. I'd love to see he and Austin develop an effective combo of some sort. He has some serious skills and he's a long wing for the 2.
10. Beasley, Brown jr, Harrison, Reed....not sure where they fit in until we tweak the roster's core.
DB, between your writeups and the qftos, as always, we appreciate your work my man! Thank you! |

Thank you for another season of after game write-ups! It’s what I look forward to most on Lakersground.
It was sad to go out like that, but what a turnaround for this team. It gives me hope for next season. We just need to find a LeBron replacement with the 17th pick l |

Thanks, DB! You're a national treasure.
What a rollercoaster. Crazy to think that we just played the WCF after the whole Westbrick experience. Easily my most miserable time as a Lakers fan.
Proud of this group. Playing hard since February. We have some good pieces moving forward, a nice core.
With healthy AD and LBJ (fingers crossed) and depth we can make a deep run next year. |

Total Total Total Props to Da MAN - DB & His Fam!!!!
Total Total Props to Rob (Turning Lemon Into Lemonade Resulting with a Playoff Run to the WCF)
TOTAL PROPS to LBJ
Our team didn't give up and battle to the very end.
A Nuggets team that has been together for several years that provided continuity beat our Laker team that was put together mere months ago.
Congrats to the Nuggets - Jokic - Murray
LBJ - Man can still produce and demand any team's first priority when game-planning
AD - Uber talented player (Kudos for playing all the playoff games - uh, that is a good thing - lol!) that when prompted/motivated (every other game) can produce HOF stats. What will AD do to improve his game since Jokic, Embiid and Giannis has passed him as the NBA's best big man
Reeves - Baller who just kept on getting better and better and better under pressure. When others were having problems making key baskets, Austin (Powers) Reeves came through
DLo - Nuggets totally exposed him and made him unplayable. How will DLo react, if his goal is to play at a high level for a legitimate title-contending team
DS - Spunky and full of spunk. He's limited offensively but his defensive pressure is something that was greatly needed
Vando - Playoffs exposed his weaknesses and his inability to have counters on offense to keep him on the court. Hopefully he will be a blend of Dennis Rodman and Metta World Peace in the future
Rui - Playoff games exposed him as a legitimate baller who can up his play in meaningful games. He has length, ability and shooting to make him an invaluable aspect of this team
Beasley - Hopefully this off-season will provide him the opportunity to work on his game since he already has the reputation of being a good shooter in the right circumstances/situations. Maybe next season, team will find where his sweet spots are so that he can become a lessor version of Klay, while hopefully making himself at least average on defense.
Brown - His offensive inabilities/inconsistencies make his defensive contributions meaningless during these playoffs
Bamba - Car Bamba 54, Where Are You???
Walker - This playoff's version of Matt Ryan that had a chance to shine and he took full advantage of it to become a folk hero - for one series. Unfortunately, did not have the opportunity of ability to replicate it in the Nuggets series
Christie - Hopefull seeing the playoffs up close and personal provided him the needed experience to understand what it takes to win in the playoffs
Side Note: Thomas Bryant wanted out of LakerLand that had him landing in Denver with a chance to win a ring without playing a single MPG - lol!! When the Nuggets needed somebody to play while Jokic rested - still no sighting of Bryant

Total Total Total Props to Da MAN - DB & His Fam!!!! |
