Absolutely awful contract for a borderline all star level player.

He's overpaid for sure. But people aren't giving him enough credit here. When he's healthy he's more than a borderline all-star. He's been third team All-NBA, and a 3 time all-star. He's topped 30 points per game twice, and is coming off a year where he shot over 50% from the field. When he's healthy he's a very good scorer.

But there’s only one ball. They have three players in Booker, KD, and now Beal who mostly score and do little else.

Chris Paul two seasons ago was more impactful for them than Beal will be.

I agree there. My comment was just at the borderline all-star comment. He's certainly better than that. Him not being a great fit, being overpaid, and injury prone though are all things I'd agree with.

Question: his NTC remains in place after being traded to Phoenix, right?

That is correct.

Thanks. There's a chance their big3 won't work, if they can't bring some defense in. In this case, getting rid of Beal - who is redundant to Booker, IMHO - won't be easy.

Yes, that's why only 3-4 teams were interested.

Other teams asked if he would waive it once traded and Beal said no.

Sounds like that NTC was a huge factor.

There is always a chance something doesn't work out but as of right now they are the number 1 contender to beat the Nuggets. This team is dangerous and I would put my money on them over any another team not named the Nuggets. Even the Nuggets might not be able to handle them

I would say that this is their ceiling, but not the likely result. Games played last season: Booker 53, Durant 47, Beal 50, Ayton 67. The only other significant player on the roster is Payne, who played 48. This roster needs some serious work, and they don't have much to work with. Even if everyone is healthy, I'm not sure how good a team this would be. They'll be able to score, but there isn't much defense.

And they need buy out guys before the season starts as they can’t sign them in season.

So I would hope Morris is bought out. I would kick the tires on Pat Bev. I would call up Dwight with Frank there. It would be about adding those type guys to this group

Warriors must have been desperate to get rid of Poole's contract to give up picks for a guy who was going to be waived.

Does Phoenix still have Craig? They need him bad.

They actually put together a pretty good team of no-names last year. Got a lot out of guys like Culver, Craig etc. I guess they feel they can do it again. Moneyball the rest of the team around the 4 stars.
