Brogdon

Yea. DLO + JHS + vet min (Reddish) gets you to $25M in expiring contracts. What do you get back with that much outgoing salary? Brogdon is one idea

Looking how AD-Jax is looking decent, Vas is right, Myles Turner

That's creates the problem of moving a $17 million player who is playing well (Rui) to the bench. I'd rather go for a part-time starter like Olynyk/Jonas that we can plug into the starting lineup depending on the matchup. There's so much PTSD from getting rocked by the Nuggets that we're at risk for overcompensating for a team that is looking like a shell of its former self.

That’s a good problem to have plus there’s Wood aka Rui insurance but imagine a free safety AD-Vando with Turner

It's a good problem but not when you're limited with assets and cap wiggle room. There's isn't really much room for additional waste. If you have Rui going out in a separate (or maybe this) trade, that's a different story.

Rui/JHS for Turner would be an excellent trade if Vanderbilt can actually play and we coked up the Pacers GM enough to get them to agree to it

I think they hoped that by year 2 or 3 JHS could be DAngelo Russell and that they would've traded Russell last summer. Alas.

my confidence in the scouting department has really taken a beating the last few years. The choices were JHS or Bufkin?? WTF is going in there?

How is Cam Whitmore doing this year?

He’s the odd man out in Houston. They sent him to the G League since he’s shooting 5.6% from the arc and still doesn’t pass the ball.

Shouldn’t the question be: would you rather have him or JHS? The answer is Whitmore. Neither look like very good basketball players right now, but Whitmore at least has NBA level athleticism. JHS doesn’t have NBA level anything. He may never play a non-garbage time minute again and he’ll be out of the league before Whitmore is.

I'm not a scout and I wanted Podz. I hate selfish guys like Cam Whitmore (seriously, a <0.5 ATR in college?? you're not a center bruh). Whitmore had injury concerns but also character concerns, and I remember not being mad they passed on him. Honestly JJJ wasn't on my radar at all so no comment there. But everything I read about Podz made him the one for me, so I'm pretty annoyed.

Cam got too cocky after a relatively successful rookie season and reverted to who he was prior to the SL.

Hopefully this humbles him and he starts playing to his potential, because he's really talented.

JHS on the other hand needs work. His 3pt shot is broken.

Very few first rounders will have their option declined especially at such a low salary.

JHS is the ONLY player from 2023 draft whose option is declined.

Shams reported on the same day that MarJon Beauchamp (the Bucks first round pick) option was also declined:

Thats a 4th year option getting declined. Many teams decline 4th year options as they are a lot more expensive. A team declining a 3rd year option is very rare...Lakers are the only team do it this year.

I thought for sure it’s cause another team asked Rob for more expiring $ aka agreed trade but crickets so far

That and the fact that Bronny has gotten more minutes than him despite the chorus of “shouldn’t even have been drafted” etc. The Lakers clearly see its damaging to even play him in garbage time against end-of-the-bench guys. Crazy to go that quickly from “we want this guy” to “he doesn’t have it.” I’m still dying to know what the hell they thought they saw in him.

Knecht with 9 3s in a single game tonight.

Fun Bet: Will JHS make 9 3s in his entire NBA career? He's made 2 so far.

Doing research takes 5 seconds.

this is the type of player that rob had hoped trashfino would turn into, and he just let him go

Scotty Pippen Jr. has 'phenomenal' game in dad's old stomping grounds

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/42574276/pippen-jr-delivers-phenomenal-game-dad-old-stomping-grounds

Pippen, the son of former Chicago great Scottie, scored a career-best 30 points, added 10 assists and shot 13-of-16 to lead the Memphis Grizzlies past the Bulls 142-131.

Not fully Rob's fault when the head coach did not even play him.
