Going back to look at that 2019 THT draft and wow it was a pretty deep draft in the 2nd round. 9 guys have turned into rotation players from the 2nd round
Nic Claxton
Cody Martin
Daniel Gafford
Jaylen Nowell
Bol Bol
Isiah Roby
THT
Terrance Mann
Jalen McDaniels
Lu Dort, Caleb, Martin, Naz Reid, and Max Straus also went undrafted _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

Worst aspect of his injury is that Gabe is also out. If he wasn't hurt he could be getting some valuable burn that could help him the way it did Reaves back in his rookie season. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Guy is the new Mo Bamba. Only whispers and rumors of his play as of late. |

Probably a good thing. Him playing against NBA players wll only create moans and groans amongst fans bc he's nowhere near ready for actual league games, speed, talent. Let him sit, watch, and grow |

Bol Bol is out of the rotation, but I get your point. There are hidden gems out there in every single draft (inc. undrafted players), and good drafting departments and scouts are worth their weight in gold. 2nd round contracts aren't guaranteed, so there's a greater chance that players will work their butts off to earn long term contracts. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. 2019 draft has to be one of the most disappointing drafts of all time. That's the Zion and Ja draft, those guys were supposed to be the face of the league. Zion has the "thick" instagram model controversy and Ja has the gun controversy. It was wing heavy, but none panned out. RJ is nothing like Jayson Tatum. Cam is nothing like Paul George. The list of disappointments is a laundry list. Not surprised a few first round picks are already out of the league. |

In mop up time, JHS probably played his best game since he was in college.
10 pts (3-4 fg / 1-2 3fg, 3-6 ft), 1 rb, 1 ast, 1 stl. |

If he contributes in some fashion it won’t be as bad as losing out on that Heat player, he looks more steady and comfortable then Christie, Christie currently needs to be a bench warmer for this team |

At least for a night I don't feel the need to punch a hole in the wall with the guys we passed on to draft JHS. |

JHS has too many flaws to get any serious PT this season. Christie has a years experience under his belt plus he's is quicker & more athletic than JHS at this point.
JHS has to show his wares just to avoid being shipped down to the G-League.
Both young guys are works in progress. |

Of course. Bunch of major hits. Some so so picks. A couple misses.
As of today, JHS feels like a miss. He was the one player I didn't watch much of because there was nothing IMO exciting to see. Felt like the one pick I didn't want and the one pick I didn't assume would happen.
Still super early, like 12 mins into his career - even BI looked like hot garbage year 1 - so perhaps he can still turn it around but he's going to have to be one of those very long term wait and see. He likely won't get real mins this or next season. Perhaps year 3 he has a shot to crack the rotation, if he's even still here. |

As of today = "12 minutes into his NBA career" which is NOT CLOSE to enough time. Also happened to be his best stretch of minutes against NBA competition. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Not really. They are just killing it on other teams. Hell, even Mo Wagner is a huge part of the Magic's success this season. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.

Worst first round draft pick I've seen from the Lakers in a long time. |

Hopefully he gets some more time here or in the g league, I think he can be useful to us. I liked the fact he was trying to work the ball inside to AD when they were running zone, doesn't seem like we've seen enough of that this season |

Glad to see JHS get game experience but IMO he is a few years away. |

He has pacing issues. Not really in sync with the rest of his teammates. Only experience can fix that. At this point you throw him in to the fire and see how he does. He was picked 17th for a reason. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.

Agreed, Injuries have curtailed his progress. He looks about the same as he did in summer league action. IMO he needs to improve in almost every area to become a viable NBA rotation guy.
G-League is a good place to hone his skills. |
