These kids are terminally online, you know he's checking social media to see what people are saying about him. Hope he can just hoop in G-League and work on his game. |

Honestly people here have gotta chill with this kid. Even if he was lights out in preseason, he's not gonna get much playing time at all this season.
We all knew this already. He's going to be developing in the g-league, so give the kid some time. The team is deep enough where there shouldn't be any pressure to make an impact right now. So chill put and let him develop. _________________ Russell Westbrick: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

The Laker version sucked major donkey d***. But the OKC version used to chew us up and spit us out and arguably did more damage to us than even KD. |

Not gonna say he’s a busy but he better play every single g league game. He’s not gonna see any PT with the main team unless we get decimated with injuries |

Chill. It was a joke. I think the kid will be fine. We just have to deal with growing pains (and a wonky jumper) in the meantime. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.

Well, Fino played 16 minutes, had 5 assists with 0 turnovers. In the guard depth chart is currently 5 and if you think CReddish as a guard will be 6. So no need to stress out. The hard part of being a point guard he is already ahead. Sent him to the G-League and make him work in his shot. Hey, Max last year played a lot in South Bay, even there were days he played 2 games in the day. |

For me, I think he is a more of a maybe not prospect simply due to difficulty with a good first step as well as not having a good jumper.
Unfortunately, these things were pretty evident in college and we still took him at 17.
Our drafting has been awesome over the last decade so you have to hope they really saw through his deficits and he will one day become a productive Laker.
I was not a fan of the pick as I really wanted the Lakers to take Podziemski.
Guess will know within the next couple seasons |

Consistency eludes every rookie. What you're looking for are some promising stretches amidst the low-impact stretches.
No to turn the JHS thread into "guys we should have taken thread" but man...Julian Strawther. Nugs got another late round gem.
Last three games from 3:
4/9
4/8
4/7
Summer League Kuzma vibes.
They're basically doing what we did a couple years ago: focusing on undervalued older players with a lower a ceiling but higher floor. |

Was hoping he would fall to us in the 2nd. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

Keynote George picked at 16, one pick before, has impressed Utah so much that they are trying to trade THT. |

Iirc reports were the Lakers had both George and Kobe above JHS. Had Whitemore not slid so far at least on of those would have been available. But that doesn’t mean Hood can’t become the better player. It takes time to develop as a power point in the NBA. Think Chauncey Billups arc. There will be stronger, faster and more skilled players. But if he puts all the tools together, he can be a good one. _________________ Charter Member Austin “Team USA” Reaves fan club. |

Keep in mind, he has not played a single NBA minute. Hold off a year or two before you label him a bust.

You never know, maybe Jalen drops weight and becomes lightning quick. We saw that with Deron Williams.
No one who watched Deron in college expected him to have the career he had. We joked and called him “doughboy” . |

Pre draft I assumed him and Anthony Black would struggle. Both similar games. Black has probably looked worse than JHS if that is possible. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Problem is JHS is not a true PG.
At the best the Lakers looked at his height and hoped he could develop
into a true PG. But so far he doesn't show that passing magic that is needed.
A better choice was Jaquez who was NBA ready. |

Being a "True PG" is largely irrelevant in today's game, and has been for the last 20 years. _________________ The most important shot in basketball. |

It's fascinating how fans continue to doubt the scouting team. A week into the season no less. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

A guy a lot of us liked, Leonard Miller just dropped 22 and 15. Still only 19. Will be a good player in 2 years. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Lakers scouting department has been good - but not perfect. Imagine if they had hit on Nikola Jokic, Devin Booker, Domantas Sabonis, Jason Tatum and then added LeBron in FA? _________________ On Lakersground, a concern troll is someone who is a fan of another team, but pretends to be a Lakers fan with "concerns". |

Knocked it out of the park with that THT selection. They are good but prone to getting picks wrong. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

U think so? THT isn’t bad for a 2nd rd pick. Now if u have issue with his contract, that’s not the scouting dept _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“ |

Yeah THT as a 2nd round pick was a hit.
JHS is one of those guys where a lot of people analysis I trust had serious doubts about his game pre draft. He hasnt done anything to prove those doubts wrong. More, so he has proven them right.
As I said when the pick was made though, the Lakers scouting department has earned the benefit of a doubt. Even if we cant see right now, which we cant. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.'
