Definitely a better bet on a 2-way than Scottie Pippen Jr was last year.

There's definitely a world where Hodge carves out a nice NBA career as a role player. Just wish he was like 2 years younger and an inch or two taller. But if that were the case he probably would have been drafted lol.

It sucks that Scottie Pippen Jr has been injured this entire Summer League run. Hodge may be taking his priorities.

I want to see if his level of defense translates to larger/more athletic veteran players and if, unlike Swider, he can keep shooting lights out in the brighter spotlight. If what he has done in Summer League can 75%+ translate to the regular season, he will have a good career as, at the least, a 3-D guard.

He really does look like a small KCP out there. All our three 2-way guys, JHS and Max have all looked legit at times.

Quibble:
JHS looks like a borderline NBA prospect, you said "at times", fine, yes he has promise, but he hasn't exactly blown up the summer league.
Max: Long way away, its' all measurements right now, little on-court performance to back that up, he's frequently AWOL or looks lost. (Of all the picks he's the one I'm the most puzzled about, they paid $4m for him???)
Hodge: KCP is out of the question, KCP's length is an inherent advantage and on top of that KCP is a consummate pro. What I would ask is with his quick release can he be a better Beasley that fits this team? If so, great, worth it.

Max is such a project that it's pointless to make much of his performance right now. Give him at least a year, but probably two, before making judgments. I think Lewis has actually shown a lot of potential, but he has a lot of polishing to do.

For Hodge, isn't Avery Bradley the better comp? Point guard-ish size (but maybe can play the 2 in a pinch) but 3&D skills? Hopefully Hodge would end up a better and more consistent shooter than Bradley.

D'moi Hodge is averaging 16.3 points per game, shooting 50% from the field and 40.7% from deep.

This is no fluke either, he shot 40% from 3 on 7+ attempts per game last year and 63% from the field.

His quick release, accuracy, defense and maturity are reasons to be optimistic about his NBA future.

Kinda like a Bruce Brown. Probably a better shooter. Similar build and defensive upside.

Maybe his 2 way gets converted later in the season and they give him spot 15, or they give him a contract next season

What I liked from pio2u's video are the two 3s he hit curling off of screens. I'm not sure if he's a good movement/ off screen shooter but if he is, that would bode really well.

Fair point, maybe a Beasley/Bradley hybrid, defends better than Beasley but not clear if he will defend at Bradley's level. Shoots the 3 better than Bradley but not clear if he will shoot it as well as Beasley (the non-Laker version).

He's showing the maturity that comes with starting his career a little later than the one and done generation. He's also showing the one trait that you want your players to display sooner than later: consistency, and on both ends of the court.

Let's say he performs like this in training camp as well the SL, would we really think about letting go of a mature, cheap contract, two-way player like this?

Hodge may or may not be as good as those guys but he has more swag!

He's been money so far, but I was actually looking forward to the game in which his shot was off. I wanted to see how he stays into the game mentally, especially defensively.

Nothing really stood out. He was still solid.

They probably convert him after his 50 games. A better Beasley for 1/16 of the cost. Lol

I thought the KCP comp was a joke.
And still don't see it.
Not the defender that KCP is especially with the lack of size.
But he's been money with the 3 ball.
