I think he had trouble staying in front of Kessler for rebounds. He needs to do a better job feeling for the big and staying low in front of him, so he is not driven forward under the rim, when the shot goes up. He just does not fight for position enough, but that is likely something he could improve on.
Kessler is the better player for sure. He was first team all-rookie and easily goes top 10 in a re-draft. My impression was that Colin wasn’t outclassed though.
BTW, at about 5:10 in the video Castleton throws in a jump hook over Kessler and it looks like he gave him the “too small” after
I watched about 10 full games of his. I think I saw two jump shots during that time, lol. Really wish we were developing a prospect that had range at this spot.
Great passer, really mobile on his feet on both ends. Caused all kinds of problems for teams with the ball in his hands (a lot of doubles sent, which he passed well out of). That should show well in the summer league. Really important to his team’s success. You felt it when he wasn’t on the floor.
Underwhelming rebounder. There were times he had perfect position and someone would take it away from him from behind. I worry a little about that becoming a bigger issue on the next level. I’ll be curious to see how big he can play in these upcoming games.
Lakers really need some depth here, so I hope he somehow shows out better than expected.

DB it would be awesome for you to give a What To Look For for key players like Max, Spider, FINO, and this kid if you can.
I think I speak for everyone when I say we love reading your analysis. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

I hope he plays very well for us in Summer League and earns a spot on the team during the season akin to Austin Reaves. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

He'll be nice.
But he gotta work on his 15ft jumper to be a real threat.
I say jumper cuz I don't think he'll have a 3 ball anytime soon. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!
He's gonna be the Jokic of the g-league. When he bulks up, he might be a contributor on the Lakers next year. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.
Starting anew. I'm retiring my main.
Fun guy to watch. Clearly needs to add more strength.
I will say I'm glad we have a C on a 2 way contract this season. If we have a big on 2 way last year, we win that Rockets game. _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.'
