Nunn was there for two years, and started two playoff games in a season they were first round fodder. They renounced his QO and wished him luck. They made a four year offer to Gabe and probably would have made the numbers work if Dame wasn't in their sights. Vincent had a four year tenure and was the third best player on a team that went to the Finals. Totally different situation.

I get the uncertainty. The question about what his specific skill is is fair. I just see a professional basketball player who is a very good fit. Would have preferred Brown, but realistic expectations of an MLE signing can be tricky. I think we did well. That's not to diminish what Dennis did. He was big. But some of what he added took away from other places. Once we got deeper in the playoffs, that got exploited.

I recognize it as a risk switching out Shro for Vinc…it would have been Shro’s 3rd season with AD/LBJ…the chemistry/continuity/familiarity had been established already with demonstrated success but now we have to see if it can be replicated with Vinc. It appears Shro was a little better on the larger sample size of the regular season.

However, I’m cool with the gamble after bringing back Dlo/AR/Rui because Vinc was much better than Shro in the post season and those returnees are who we’ll count on with AD/LBJ for the regular season. Although it is a smaller sample size, the post season was the more recent and more important so I’m ok rolling with Vinc as a new guy over the proven Shro, even tho he was slightly worse in the regular season since he was much better in the post season.

I’m very optimistic about Vinc and the top 6: AD/Rui/LBJ/AR/Vinc/Dlo. It’s everyone else I’m worried about.
